“Hope you had a happy Earth Day! We celebrated by toasting brands who are visionaries in developing eco-conscious snacks through ingredients and innovative packaging. We had tons of grab-and-go goodies in this 11 item box including Soley fruit jerky, BRAMI lupini beans, Hippeas tortilla chips and a Bearded Brothers bar. We also included a chocolate surprise and a full-sized sustainable condiment. Hope you got a chance to get outside and enjoy our amazing planet and all it has to offer.”
Let’s take a closer look at everything in the box.
Drizzilicious Cookies and Cream Rice Cakes
“Chocolate surprise! This item will cure any sweet nighttime craving.”
I thought the chocolate flavour could be a little stronger. I’m also not a fan of the icing drizzle over top. However, these are still a nice little low calorie snack for at home or on the go.
Hippeas Rockin’ Ranch Tortilla Chips
“These ranch flavoured chips are made out of chickpeas who are eco-rockstars.”
These are just like tortilla chips. I really enjoyed the tangy ranch flavour here.
Bakery on Main Monster Cookie Granola
“Mouthwatering gluten-free granola perfect for a quick breakfast or a midday snack.”
A Bakery on Main granola variety is usually included every month. This month’s Monster Cookie flavour contains goodies such as dark chocolate, nuts, and whole grains. It is among one of my favourites I have tried from them.
Bearded Brothers Luscious Lemon Cashew Bar
“Delightfully flavored bars crafted with all organic fruits, nuts, and seeds.”
I loved this! It was lightly sweet with a nice lemon-y flavour. So convenient too for taking on the go.
Brami Chili & Lime Italian Snacking Lupini Beans
“Lupini beans are one of the most nutrient dense plants on the planet.”
This is my first time trying lupini beans. I was quite surprised to discover that these are actually damp pickled beans and not a dried roasted nut snack. They are delicious though, with a texture kind of like an edamame bean.
Foods Alive Nutritional Yeast
“Every vegan’s favourite condiment. Sprinkle on any food to give it a nice cheesy taste.”
I am in the minority here, but I really do not like anything cheesy, so this is not for me.
Ultima Replenisher Electrolyte Mix
“Beat the heat this spring with this hydration mix to fuel any outdoor workout.”
I don’t generally go for electrolyte drinks and much prefer water even when working out. This was really fun to try though, and a nice refreshing addition to regular water. I quite enjoyed the flavours, but the stevia taste is quite prominent, so if you are bothered by that you may not like this.
Solely Pineapple Coconut Jerky Drizzled with Cacao
“Solely products are organic and contain no added sugars or preservatives.”
Sadly not liking this one. The combination of coconut and cacao with pineapple is just really odd to me. Would really love to try just pineapple jerky would no additional flavours, I think that could actually be really yummy.
Rishi Valerian Dream Organic Botanical Blend
This is not on the info card, so must be a bonus item this month. We actually received a single pack of this last month, but this time around we get an entire box! I think this is a nice herbal tea. Valerian is said to help induce sleep, but as I mentioned last time, I really couldn’t comment on its effectiveness. I have no trouble falling asleep within seconds nowadays after a long day with an active toddler haha.
Hippie Snacks Buffalo Cauliflower Crisps
“Buffalo flavoured crisps whose first ingredient is cauliflower.”
I will take anything buffalo flavoured, please and thank you. These are like a dense nutty crisp – no cauliflower taste detected. The buffalo flavour is really mild, but does come with a slight kick.
Hlth PUNK UFO Burger Sauce
“These sauces are not just delicious but filled with clean, sustainable ingredients.”
This is sauce with dijon mustard, tomato paste, and cayenne. I don’t eat burgers often, but this is a nice sauce for dipping. The spice level is a little muted for my tastes though.
Savor by Suzie Grain-Free Pretzels
This is another bonus item for the month. I really enjoyed these little sea salt flavoured pretzels, its such an addictive snack and not too salty at all.
Final Thoughts
There are quite a few hits and misses this month, but I think the full sized tube of sauce and box of tea more than made up for it! My favourites from this box are the buffalo cauliflower crisps, Hippeas tortilla chips, and Lupini beans. Also am really enjoying the UFO sauce. I think the box this month had a nice balance of sweet and savoury. Overall, this is such a fun box with getting to try all these new to me foods and flavours.
