White Willow Box Review October 2021

Hi everybody! 👋 I hope you had a nice weekend. My to-do list didn’t get much shorter but I did have lunch with some friends and visit one of my favourite bookstores so that’s two checkmarks in the win column. And I ordered some Christmas cards! I know Christmas is still two months away (or do you say only two months away?) but they were so cute I couldn’t resist. Speaking of Christmas, if you need some help with your shopping this year I might have a few ideas. 😉 Like White Willow Box! It’s a subscription box from Vancouver, BC that delivers 4 to 5 full-sized and deluxe sample size products from beauty to home decor and everything in between every other month for $65 Canadian/box including shipping and $10 flat-rate shipping to the US. (Whew! That’s a mouthful! I talk fast when I get excited. 😉 Did I mention single boxes are available too?) Here’s a look at October’s edition. *

* They kindly sent us this box for review.

This is my third White Willow Box now and the packing and presentation is always impeccable. You know you’re in for a treat with that wide White Willow ribbon and elegant script.

Each White Willow Box includes a product card with descriptions of the contents on one side and an inviting image on the other. This time it’s a recipe for Maple Hot Chocolate. Sounds delicious, and easy enough too.

Original Rich Silky Hot Chocolate by COCO

“There’s nothing like a cup of hot chocolate to keep the autumn chill away. COCO Original Rich Silky Hot Chocolate is the perfect vegan chocolately hug to warm you from the inside out! With no gluten or GMOs, you will feel no guilt savoring this guilty pleasure. Only three ingredients: organic cane sugar, organic cocoa and organic Himalayan salt. $8 CAD / $6.50 USD.”

Hot chocolate is more of a winter treat to me but we’ve had snow in October so why not fall too? This package makes 13 servings so more than enough to share. (If you’re so inclined.)

Jumbo Lip Balm by Way of Will (All-natural · Cruelty-free)

“There’s nothing more alluring than a confident smile. And a confident smile starts with healthy, radiant lips. Enriched with natural skin-loving ingredients that’ll combat dryness, dullness, and aging, this jumbo lip balm will surely keep your delicate lips moisturized and protected from the dry autumn air all day, every day. $14.50 CAD / $14.50 USD.”

White Willow Box offered subscribers their choice of two Way of Will lip balms: this KISS one made with jojoba oil, apricot kernel oil, shea butter and peppermint oil to refresh, condition and moisturize; or one called LICK made with jojoba oil and lemon essential oil to moisturize, smooth and protect. I’m partial to peppermint so I went with KISS and it’s so soothing, so peppy! A quick pick-me-up and a good thing it’s jumbo because I’m using it constantly. 😂

Round Lace Coasters (set of 4) by Willow Home

“These beautiful food grade silicone coasters are cold and high temperature resistant. Not only will they protect your furniture from stains and scratches, but the simple and romantic lace design will add a touch of feminine elegance to your space! Easy to clean and dishwasher safe. $24 CAD / $19 USD.”

Pretty, pink, and so easy to clean. These fancy-looking but highly practical coasters make me want to have a tea party. They’re part of White Willow’s new home goods collection. (August’s box included a lovely Willow Home throw.)

Large Blanket Scarf

“Keep your neck and shoulders toasty with this faux cashmere blanket scarf! Not only can it be worn numerous ways, the reversible inverted colour scheme means it is the perfect versatile accessory to compliment any outfit. Now that’s what every girl’s closet needs! Curated in pink/blue or grey/orange. $55 CAD / $43 USD.”

I’m not one to wear a scarf out and about but I love to have one wrapped cocoon-like around me when I’m at home (ie. 90% of the time). White Willow Box offered a choice of grey/orange or this pink/blue and it’s so soft and so cozy — I wish you could feel it and see. I had a hard time choosing between the colours — both combos looked smashing.

Face Masks by MaskerAide

“Designed in Canada and made in Korea, MaskerAide strives to bring a bit of fun into your skincare with their bright and colourful products. They are also serious about taking care of your skin, using high quality ingredients in their formulas. Say yes way to Rosé All Day! This pore refining rose gold peel-off mask is made with real 24k gold flakes that your skin will drink up in a wink. Stressed spelled backwards is desserts, so what better way to relax and renew than with the Sweet Retreat mini mask skin treats. $7 CAD / $ 5 USD per mask.”

And to wrap it all up some MaskerAide face masks. I’ve used a few from this brand — they have a large range for various needs — and my skin always feels better for it. I tried some of the Sweet Retreat mini masks the other night and they were such a nice little pick-me-up. Such a quick and easy way to feel pampered. The mini ones are only a few inches around so you can apply them just on your cheeks or under your eyes or wherever you want to soothe and hydrate your skin. Subscribers also received a discount for 20% off all MaskerAide products.

If you’d like to treat yourself or a loved one to a lovely and luxurious sampling of beauty, home, decor and other lifestyle products White Willow Box is a really nice one to try. I like the mix of new and familiar brands, the pretty packaging and the price — for $65 including Canadian shipping, White Willow Box is a winner.
