Wine Down Box Review December 2017
With Wine Down Box their expertly curated pairings draw from the best small-batch California wines and deliver them with fresh, artisanal cheese, handcrafted charcuterie, and scratch-made crackers. They kindly sent us this box for review.
Once again I was super super excited to see this box show up!!! Inside was the same awesomeness with a slightly different cheese and wine, which I could not wait to try out!! There was also a personalized note in there that was a super nice touch!!!
Nita Crisp Wheat Breadcracker
So these were the exact same cracker that I received in my first box. Once again I totally felt like they paired really well with everything and my little one even really liked them! It may have been nice to see a different cracker, but overall they are tasty so I had no problem eating them all up!!
Alle-Pia Fine Cured Meats Sopressa
So when I found out that this meat is crafted using local produced Paso Robles Zinfandel wine I could not wait to give it a try … you add wine to anything and I am in!! It was a great match for everything in the box! I also really love the resealable bag that it comes in, keeps it fresh if you don’t feel like eating it all right away!
Plymouth Aritisan Cheese – Hunter
OK, so I tried the cheese on its own first and wow did it have some flavor. I was not the biggest fan of it on its own but once paired with the meat and cracker and top it off with the wine, it was absolute perfection!!! I am slightly obsessed with the cheese brand and have now started buying it all up!!!
Mastro Scheidt Family Cellars Zinfandel
So I really feel that Zinfandel doesn’t get enough attention!! This one was exceptional and was the best pairing with the cheese!! I love a bold red wine when the weather cools down and this one was perfect for that!!
Wine Down Box December 2017 – Final Thoughts
Once again Wine Down knocked it out of the park!! I can’t get over the thought of the pairing that goes into this subscription because the two boxes I have tried so far have been out of this world!! Like I said before, I am a huge fan of meat and cheese so you bet I can’t wait for the next one!!
