Women’s Collective Box Review Fall 2021

One of my favourite quotes is this one from Helen Keller: “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” Which is kind of funny because another one of my favourites is “Introverts unite! Separately, in your own homes.” 😂 Even tho I struggle with large groups (three people can even be a bit much, LOL), I believe in the power of a collective and know there are many, many ways we can lift each other up without sharing the same physical space. Lifting each other up, “harnessing the limitless power of women supporting each other’s dreams” is what the Women’s Collective Box is all about. The seasonal subscription box delivers “a collection of items from exclusively women-run companies that represent the thoughtfulness, resolve, and artistry that set women apart.” The fall box is my first one and I’m delighted to share it with you. (Women’s Collective Box kindly sent it for review.)

The nitty gritty:

Each seasonal Women’s Collective Box features a different artist. Fall’s box was designed by Lauren Brajczewski of Loud Snaps Creative in Chicago.

“Lauren’s work centers around the strength, power, and resilience of women and their relationships with nature and with each other. The design for the Women’s Collective fall box was inspired by the power women have when they come together to support each other.”

I think the design is absolutely gorgeous. Women front and centre where they should be, bright uplifting colours coordinated to the season and a playful illustration style that makes me feel sunny.

I love how the design carries through to the product guide (plus a sticker you’ll see a bit later in this post). Inside you’ll meet the women behind the products in the box, stories that bring the items to life and make them feel infinitely more special than any similar but mass-produced goods you might find elsewhere.

Catch-All Tray · Kyla Harper, Tumble (New Mexico)

“The things we put on our bodies and display in our homes have a great impact on the way we feel, think and go through the world. All of Tumble’s products are inspired by the desert and made by hand in studio. We have created an oval catch-all tray that can be used in every room in your home to hold all those belongings you hold near and dear. $28”

I’ve been eyeing resin trays from a few different makers so I was thrilled to see this one! (I believe subscribers received one of a few different colours.) It’s a great size for a candle or two, jewellery, office supplies — all kinds of things! Such an easy, pretty way to corral special items or bits and bobs.

Travel Candle · Sarah Hart, Simply Curated (Grand Rapids, Michigan)

“Simply Curated poured our favorite scents into a chic gold travel tin so you can take a little bit of home with you wherever you go. Each tin holds 3.5 oz and the wood wick will deliver a crackling glow for up to 15 hours. Each one of the soy travel candles burn cleanly and safely and when you’re done pop on the lid and your candle will be ready for your next escape. $13”

I’m forever burning candles and this one (mine is Peony + Salt) smells so wonderful. Not too strong, not too mild, just right. I love the idea of taking one of your favourite scents with you when you travel. I don’t go anywhere LOL but I can see how it would be comforting.

Ceramic wine cup · Jess Reedy, Pineapple Studios (Wilmington, North Carolina)

“Part of the “Good News Belongs to You” made by Pineapple Studios. Glazed in a matte white for added hand-holding comfort. Take your ceramic wine cup to your picnics, backyard hangs, bubble baths, or anywhere you prefer not to venture with a glass cup. Dishwasher and microwave safe, but hand-washing is always encouraged for your ceramic wares. $26”

I’ve fallen hard for ceramics over the past couple of years and this gorgeous vessel is such a treasure. Great size for a glass of wine, water, soda, whatever you fancy and makes a lovely vase too. The shape, the colour, the finish — perfection!

Wall Street Stud Earrings · Gerly Noland, Everly Made (Southern California)

“Sleek, polished, and always confident. These classy studs signal that you mean business (…but in a friendly way!). You are the kind of friend that always arrives on time and lends a helping hand to get things squared away. You’re worth your weight in gold! 14k gold filled with matching back. Measures 8 mm. $22”

This delicate pair is just my style. Aesthetically anyway. I am neither sleek, polished nor always confident LOL. But I’m happy to dress the part!

Embroidered apron · Michel Janse, Summer Mornings (Los Angeles, California)

“This custom embroidered “linen-look” apron is the perfectly minimal addition to any kitchen. $25”

We have no shortage of aprons in the house but this one is my favourite by far. I love the simple linen-look, perfect for all seasons and so pretty I’m going to hang it in the kitchen where I can see it all the time.

Last but not least, this great sticker! “Anything is possible when women come together to support each other.” Hear hear!

The fall Women’s Collective Box is valued at $114 USD and I couldn’t be more delighted with it. The presentation is beautiful inside and out; the products all ones I would readily buy for myself and to gift; and all produced by and supporting women-run businesses, some of whom I’ve already looked up and started following. I can’t wait to see what the Winter Women’s Collective Box will bring!
