YumeTwins Review July 2017

YumeTwins is a monthly subscription box service from Tokyo Treat that delivers high-quality, kawaii Japanese items straight from Tokyo to your doorstep!   It centers around the “yume kawaii” culture which is a new kawaii movement recently emerged in Japan. Yume kawaii isn’t just kawaii – it’s a mixture of cuteness, fairytales and, importantly, a touch of darkness! They kindly sent us this box for review.

YumeTwins is probably the cutest subscription I review. When it comes to cuteness, this box tops them all. My last review was the May box and it was pretty stinkin’ cute. I kind of wanted to keep all the cat inspired goodies from the May box for myself. This month it looks like we have a Sailor Moon/Disney theme. Let’s have a closer look……

School’s out! Summer’s here! Kawaii Adhesive Bandaids

Check out these kawaii bandages by Kamio Japan, Japan’s leading stationery maker. We bet that these bandages will come in handy this Summer with all the walking and fun activities you’ll be doing. Which of the 4 Kamio Japan’s kawaii original character designs did you get? Was it Mochi Mochi Panda, Shirokuma Days, Hoshikuzu Dream or Bonjour Chat?

This is only the first item and I am already sold on this month’s box. I LOVED items like this when I was young. I would have peed my pants if I received a box with these in it when I was in elementary school. Themed bandages are just so darn cute.

Disney Squishy “Potemochi” Plush

Coming in at 16 cm, these perfectly-sized squishy Disney plushies could be your new travel company this summer. The plushies get their name “potemochi” from the Japanese word potteri which means plump and mocchiri a Japanese word that describes a soft glutinous texture. You’ll find 1 of 5 adorable Disney characters – Winnie the Pooh, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck or Alien in your box. Which character did you get?

SO cute! I received Minnie Mouse but I kind of want all of them. You should see the other 5 characters…..Winnie the Pooh is the cutest. How do I get my hands on that one?

My Melody Dental Travel Kit

Say goodbye to boring hotel dental travel kits and say hello to this cute My Melody dental travel kit that you’ll want to take with you on your summer travels this year! This Sanrio licensed Japan exclusive kit comes in a cute My Melody designed cup with a cover and includes a slim My Melody toothbrush and toothpaste. Did you get the color you wanted?

Ummm…..can this box get any cuter! This is another item I would have obsessed over when I was young. I love that they included a practical item in this month’s box. I would love to see more items like this. How fun to be able to take a kit like this on a sleepover?!

Sailor Moon Playing Cards

Up the fun factor this summer with these special Sailor Moon playing cards. These cute playing cards are sure to provide hours of entertainment whether with your family at home or while on holiday with friends. Brought to you by Ensky, all your favourite Sailor Moon characters appear on these special 20th anniversary edition playing cards just like you remember them from the 90s!

Wow, this is a blast from the past. I use to watch Sailor Moon with the kids I babysat in High School. It’s pretty exciting that they included a game in the July Box. I like items that can be used more than once. Playing cards are the perfect addition and another item I would like to see more of.

Re-Ment Sanrio x Japanese Gods Blind Box

Re-ment – the maker of all Japan’s best blind boxes released one that all lovers of Sanrio and Japan will love! Your favourite Sanrio characters make an appearance in various fun, “Best of Japanese food and cultural” scenarios. Each box comes with a piece of gum included. Which if the 8 boxes did you get? Do you recognize the different Japanese foods and cultural items depicted in your box?

YumeTwins Review July 2017 – Final Thoughts

I am so impressed with this month’s YumeTwins. I think it is my favourite box thus far. I LOVE the mixture of items. The dental travel kit will be perfect for Summer vacations and sleepovers. The playing cards will be perfect for family nights, and the bandaids will make any ouchie feel better. I honestly can’t say enough about the July box. I think it is absolutely perfect!
