YumeTwins Review March 2021
YumeTwins is a Japanese subscription full of kawaii or licensed character items from popular brands. Each box will contain cute plushies and squishies, stationery, bags and pouches, accessories, or daily practical goods straight from Japan. They kindly sent us this box for review.
Subscription Details
The YumeTwins subscription costs $35 per box on a monthly plan, with cost savings for longer term prepaid subscriptions. Subscriptions on 3-, 6-, and 12-month prepaid plans will cost $33.50, $32, and $31.50 per box respectively. Shipping ranges from $10.50-$12.50 per box depending on the available shipping courier for each country.
Each monthly box includes 5 items to give you an experience of Japanese culture through everything kawaii. Items range from plushies, toys, stationery, bags, wearable accessories, and practical goods curated around a theme.
Each box comes with a cute booklet that provides a brief overview of the theme and pictures and descriptions of each item. The booklet also contains upcoming news, activities, details for a subscriber photo contest and prizes, and photos from the YumeTwins community.
This month’s feature article teaches us how to tell cherry blossoms and plum blossoms apart. We have both kinds of blossoms where I live and I always get them confused! It’s great to have this information handy.
Let’s take a closer look at the March “Sakura Wonderland” box!
YumeTwins Exclusive: Mameshiba Sakura Puppy
“Meet spring’s newest mascot: Sasuke of the Mameshiba Triplets! Cat & dog people will both agree, this doggy is c-u-t-e! Designed exclusively for YumeTwins by AMUSE with sakura-pink fur, a cherry blossom on its ear, and stylish scarf, you’ll love this pup!”
Isn’t he adorable? This pup with his stylish pink scarf and fur is perfect for this month’s theme! He is super soft and cuddly, and I love the cherry blossom tucked on his ear.
Sanrio Kitty Pals Pouch
“This double zipper pouch with a fish tin motif – a feline favorite! – is topped with a pull-tab shaped accent for full effect. Decorated with popular Sanrio characters in kawaii cat costumes, and comes in two varieties: ‘Tuna’ or ‘Salmon’. Works beautifully in a vanity area or on a nightstand.”
I got the Tuna’ version and it is really kawaii! Hello Kitty in various costumes is featured on the pouch. My favorite part of this pouch is the pull tab on the cover. It just cracks me up every time. This pouch is the perfect size for lipsticks and smaller glosses, so I am using it right now as a lipstick and gloss organizer. Cute and super useful!
Kawaii Character Drawstring Pouch
“The more you fill up this soft & stretchy ‘kinchaku’ style drawstring pouch, the more it becomes plushie-like, round and kawaii! A super convenient way to carry, it’s ideal for all sorts of situations and can hold snacks, goodies, cosmetics, you name it! Hang in your room for a cute decoration when not in carry-mode.”
We get not one, but two pouches this month! Not that I am complaining because who doesn’t love a Pikachu pouch? Subscribers will receive 1 of 7 possible designs. The fabric is really soft and the design with Pikachu’s face is adorable!
Kirby 8-Bit Coaster
“Relive the glory days of old-school Nintendo with this retro-inspired drink coaster! Perfectly pixelated, the durable rubble material is waterproof and grips strongly onto your drinkware to prevent slipping. This makes it ideal for repeated use anywhere from the kitchen to your workspace.”
Subscribers will receive 1 of 6 designs. The 8-bit design really brings me back to my childhood playing old school video games!
Yume-Kawaii Tamago Hairbrush
“Pastel eggs in spring are a must! The egg-shaped design fits comfortably in your hand as it glides through your hair, and is compact enough to easily take along wherever you go. Plus, the brush is constructed so that your hair won’t become tangled.”
Another cute and useful item! Subscribers will get 1 of 4 designs. I got the one featuring a kawaii unicorn. This is sadly one I had to pass along to a friend, hairbrushes just do not play well with my long and wavy hair.
Spring Blossom Kitchen Hot Mat
“This multipurpose wizard is ideal as a pot holder, a glove, or even a plant stand! Use in the entryway or bedrooms to place keys or jewelry. Either design variant will add a pop of color to your space: Sakura (pink background) or Japanese Plum (cream background).”
This is such a pretty design! I hate to admit it, but we often do not eat meals at the dining table. Mats like this are really useful to help hold hot bowls and plates, and we can never have enough of them.
YumeTwins Review March 2021 – Final Thoughts
YumeTwins came through with another kawaii filled box this month! With the exception of the hair brush which doesn’t work for me, I loved everything in the box. My favorites are the Sanrio Kitty pouch, Kirby coaster, and spring blossom mat. As usual, the items are not just cute, but also really useful. If you are someone who is a fan of cute things and Japanese characters, this is the box for you!
