YumeTwins Review October 2021
YumeTwins is a Japanese subscription full of kawaii or licensed character items from popular brands. Each box will contain cute plushies and squishies, stationery, bags and pouches, accessories, or daily practical goods straight from Japan.
They kindly sent us this box for review.
Subscription Details
The YumeTwins subscription costs $35 per box on a monthly plan, with cost savings for longer term prepaid subscriptions. Subscriptions on 3-, 6-, and 12-month prepaid plans will cost $33.50, $32, and $31.50 per box respectively. Shipping cost varies depending on the available shipping courier for each country.
Each monthly box includes 5 items to give you an experience of Japanese culture through everything kawaii. Items range from plushies, toys, stationery, bags, wearable accessories, and practical goods curated around a theme.
The October box theme is “Halloween Cuties”. Can you believe it is spooky season already? This year is just flying by!
In the box is an information booklet with cute illustrations. The YumeTwins booklet provides a brief overview of the theme, along with pictures and descriptions of each item. It also contains articles related to the month’s theme, details for a subscriber photo contest and prizes, and photos from the YumeTwins community.
This month there is a feature article describing the Bakeneko Festival, a popular event held every October in Japan to celebrate cats and their contribution to Japanese folklore. People celebrate this event by dressing up in cat-themed costumes! This sounds like the cutest festival ever.
YumeTwins Exclusive Kuromi Pumpkin Plushie
This adorable Kuromi plushie is a YumeTwins exclusive collaboration with Sanrio. Kuromi is dressed up in a pumpkin costume, complete with orange skull and ears. This plush is super soft and squishy, the perfect cute companion for Halloween!
Melty Holic Notebook and Sticky Note Set
This cute stationery set includes a notebook with “medicine log” cover and sticky notes with a bear nurse and medical themed graphics. How cute are those pill and band aid sticky notes! Adorable sticky notes like these are such a great way to make note taking fun.
Kirby Character Keychain
Kirby is all dressed up for Halloween in this keychain. I got this pink clear acrylic one with Kirby in an adorable bunny ear hat and scarf.
Sanrio x Fate Grand Order Makeup
This collaboration between Fate Grand Order and Sanrio features characters from the series on a makeup palette inspired by the series’ costumes and styles.
The palette has four eyeshadow shades and one cream lip/cheek tint. The one I got has cool-toned blue and grey shadows, and a pretty pink cream lip/cheek tint. I would have preferred one of the other warmer toned variations to be honest, since blue shadow shades like these don’t really flatter my skin tone. I love the cream tint though! It works really well to give a slight tint to my lips for a my lips but better look.
Pikachu Halloween Basket
Use this Pikachu basket to collect your trick or treat candy haul! It is also amazing as a desktop organizer for supplies and miscellaneous items.
Sanrio Halloween Temp Tattoo and Candy Set
This item is such fun! The temporary tattoos featuring Hello Kitty are so cute. It also comes with a set of individually wrapped lollipops. To use the tattoo, just simply apply it, dab with a wet tissue or cloth, remove the backing, let dry, and you’re done! I can’t wait to try these out.
YumeTwins Review October 2021 – Final Thoughts
Everything in the October YumeTwins is so fitting with the Halloween theme! It is definitely more cute than spooky, and I love the items included. The temporary tattoos are such fun! The sticky notes I will definitely use in my daily note taking, and the plushie is such a cute and squishy couch companion. Overall this is such a well curated box, perfect for anyone who loves cute Japanese character merch.
