YumiBox Review December 2016

YumiBox Review December 2016

Ok, so here’s the deal. I am the most high-maintenance person on the planet when it comes to my diet. Not only am I vegan (95% of the time) but I also try to avoid gluten and sugar. I don’t eat this way to be annoying, I eat this way for health reasons. I could give you a list a mile long of the positive effects my high-maintenance diet has had on my health……but we don’t have that much time. Let’s just say that today’s review is PERFECT for my lifestyle, and I am actually really excited about it.

YumiBox Review

If you aren’t familiar with YumiBox it was created to bring back whole grains and to inspire healthy carbohydrate choices for overall health, as well as blood sugar management.

Here’s a look at the whole grains we received this month:

YumiGrains: Santa’s Stuffing

Well, it’s festive, that’s for sure! Healthy and easy stuffing for your holiday dinners. Seasoned, and made to impress. Have a serving of festive grains for your meals!

This is SO exciting!! I try to make a vegan friendly Christmas dinner at least once over the holiday season so this is going to come in very handy. Until last year I would make vegan stuffing with regular ol’ bread but now that I am also trying to be gluten-free, this YumiGrains version will be the perfect substitute.

YumiOats: Mr. Nutcracker

What happens when pumpkin spice meets nutella? Mr. Nutcracker. Enjoy our gourmet healthy holiday oatmeal made to start your mornings with a warm smile.

Oh my goodness!!!! How amazing does this sound!! I am so happy to see seasonal flavours in my December YumiBox. I hope they do this on a regular basis. And…….if I don’t want to eat oatmeal every morning for breakfast I can use the recipe they included and make Go Bananas Easy Pumpkin Spice Oatmeal Cookies…..I am in love!

YumiBox Review December 2016 – Final Thoughts

So, here’s what I love about YumiBox. It’s a convenient way for me to try new whole grains each month, they create some really amazing flavours, they include recipes in each box, and there’s no added sugar. Do you know how hard it is to find food products that don’t contain sugar? Pretty much everything we consume nowadays has sugar in it. It actually makes me kind of sad. I reviewed my first YumiBox back in June, but I didn’t have a good grasp of what they were trying to accomplish with their subscription service. Now that I know a little more about this box, I really truly love it. I’m super excited to test out both recipes, and I can’t wait to see what flavour combinations they come up with for January.

XOXO
