Shopping for Probiotics is more complicated than playing the stock market! The options are endless and often quality can be questionable. Even an expert in the field could spend hours comparing and contrasting the products on the shelf, so we have made it simple and outlined our “must-haves” when selecting our supplement:
- It has to include a variety of strains that have been clinically tested in doses similar to, or the same as what is used in clinical trials
- It has to have enough live active cultures of each strain to actually have a therapeutic benefit
- The exact genus, species and strain of each bacteria needs to be identified by the manufacturer
- It has to be third party verified, non-GMO and dairy free
- It has to have a guaranteed number of Colony Forming Units (CFU’s) at expiry, not just at the time of manufacture
- It has to be free from undesirable and unnecessary fillers
- It has to be shelf stable
We offer a variety of different probiotic supplements and recommend our customers alternate between them every 4 to 6 months to help establish microbial diversity. Having more strains provides strength in numbers as well as variation in the type of bacteria you are colonizing with. High concentrations of fewer strains can be great for treating certain conditions like antibiotic associated diarrhea, however diversity is important in supplements used for daily, general health so as not to end up with an over-colonization of any specific strain of bacteria.

What You Get: Each VTMN Packs order comes with enough packs to cover you for 30 days, so depending on how often you take your supplements (most of ours are taken twice a day), the total number of packs you get may be between 30 and 60.
