Amoda Tea Review April 2017

April 2017

Spring kinda faked us out last month!  Only fleeting moments of warm weather.  What about your neck of the woods?  Luckily, it’s finally turning for the better and there’s an abundance of spring blossoms all around.  Soon, we’ll all be able to find the new spring harvest teas as well.

Amoda Tea changed their box!  Love the new design.  It felt like I was opening up an envelope instead of a box.  I also really like the print on it as well.  It’s a great fresh change to go along with the fresh seasonal change into spring!  Even though spring has been lagging it’s sunny days a little bit.  April showers bring May flowers right?!   Certainly hope so.

All of these teas sound amazing to me!  I prefer drinking fruit teas iced with real fruit infused into it, so all these flavours are going to be my go to patio sippers just as soon as the weather cooperates!

Spring Blossom Baozhong

Note: The label for this one should list jasmine flowers and calendula too!  This is a beautiful oolong with long twisted leaves that steep into a bouquet of florals.  A sweet, smooth cup with notes of vanilla and jasmine blossom.

This sounds so delightful and light!  One thing I can really struggle with when it comes to tea is it’s heaviness.  So many teas feel the need to pack in the flavour and pack a punch that they often become heavy with taste and no longer a true tea… my opinion.  I love that this tea seems to be just the sweet essence of leaves and floral!  Can’t wait to try.

Madagascar Dream

An all-natural cocoa inspired tea with refreshing hints of mint and luxurious vanilla.  We used fair-trade organic cacao shells from Madagascar and Peru to create this creamy delicious black tea blend.

Mmmm… love cocoa in tea.  I also love that the mint is in there to off set the chocolate tastes.  I have a feeling this tea will stand really well on it’s own without the need for honey or added cream.

Perfectly Pear

The flavours of bai mu dan white tea and asian pear are so complementary.  Asian pears are so refreshing, crisp and sweet that they go well with the warm florals and slight earthiness of the white tea.  They also don’t overpower the delicate nature of white tea.

This is the tea my eyes went directly two when I unboxed the Amoda Tea this month!  I haven’t been able to stop looking at it since I opened the box.  It sounds so refreshing and summery!  Asian pears are so crisp and delicious that I just can’t wait to see how they taste as a tea!

Strawberry Shortcake

When our team tried this, it was instant “mmmm”s and “this tastes just like strawberry shortcake!”  What more can we say?  This is a blend of the cousins rooibos and honeybush, giving similar benefits but different flavours to the blend.

Yum!  Sounds amazing!  Can’t wait to try this one.  The rooibos tea selection in every Amoda Tea box I have gotten to date has been outstanding!  This one sounds like it may top the charts.

Amoda Tea April 2017 – Final Thoughts

I really do love this box!  For any tea lover this is the perfect way to keep the tea cupboard full, but keep the options rotating!  I place a high value on having good tea stocked at all times and having many options, as you have to have the right tea for the right mood.   I’m not sure I could ever be the kind of person that buys orange pekoe in bulk from Costco and be happy with that.  I need to have a comforting tea when I’m sad, a light tea when I’m bouncy, and a complex tea when I want to think and reflect.  Amoda Tea does such a great job in providing a variety in each box with both classic teas and some funky ones to stretch your pallet!  I have also given the odd packet away as a gift, which makes such a great little addition to any present!  Love these guys and love their selections for us this month!
