I want to take this time to point out that I LOVE the fact that Amoda Tea offers a low caff subscription option. I prefer caffeine-free teas to high-caffeine teas and therefore appreciate that I have the option to choose. It’s difficult to find caffeine-free tea options, trust me, I’ve tried. And often times tea subscription boxes focus on high-caffeine blends. Just thought that was worth mentioning.
December Details
When you think about the holidays, what comes to mind? For us it’s the feels you get on a cozy morning, all the holiday flavours with cloves, cinnamon and ginger, essentials like cranberries and mixed nuts, and goodies like gingerbread cookies, warm apple pie with caramel sauce and so much chocolate. We’ve tried our very best to weave these through the teas in the December Box. We hope you love them.
Amoda Tea is speaking my language. They nailed it with the box description this month. I feel like we are on the same page – cozy mornings, holidays flavours, chocolate and all that good stuff. Let’s have a closer look at the tea blends we received in the December box….
Bombay Almond
The richest flavours for the coldest mornings. This is like chocolate covered almonds, earthy pureh and cinnamon apple indulgence in each sip.
We are off to a great start. I love any tea that includes nutty flavours. This one also includes cinnamon which is my new favourite flavour when it comes to tea. I can’t get enough of it. I’m still trying to get acquainted with pureh tea as I was only introduced to it a few months ago. I kind of want to set up a bit of a taste test and compare it to other varieties.
Red Cranberry
For something a little different from your typical Christmas flavours comes this cranberry herbal tea. There’s a perfect balance of sweet, tart and tangy flavours. Cranberries, citrus and a hint of cinnamon.
Cranberries make me think of Christmas so this blend is a perfect addition to the box. It’s an herbal tea so it will be perfect for my evening cup. Once again we see cinnamon in the ingredient list and that makes me happy.
Blessings
A delicious blend of Indian and Chinese teas becomes festive with Christmas spices, sweet apple, hints of tart hibiscus and a kiss of caramel. It you’re lucky enough to have a fireplace, you best cozy up next to it and sip this one.
I am loving the ingredient list for this one – orange, cinnamon, caramel, cloves and ginger just to name a few. I love the smell of cloves, especially this time of year, so I have a feeling I will enjoy this blend. Sometimes the fragrance of the tea is reason enough to make a cup. That and the simple act of wrapping your hands around a warm mug.
Pumpkin Gingerbread
We’re loving this for its soft pumpkin and balanced gingerbread spice. This tea begs to be made into a rooibos tea latte. Just steep your tea concentrated (more tea, less water) for 5 minutes, strain and top up with hot milk. Sweeten as desired.
Oh my goodness!!! This one sounds too good to be true. Not only is it the best flavour combo ever – pumpkin and gingerbread – but it is also caffeine free!!! Right now my go-to tea blend is rooibos and cinnamon, and this blend happens to include both. I am beyond excited about this last tea and have a feeling I will be sad when it is gone.
Disposable tea bags – such a great feature!
Amoda Tea Review December 2017 – Final Thoughts
I am beyond excited about the December Amoda Tea box. They did a wonderful job. I can feel the holiday vibes and look forward to trying all four blends we received. I am going to start off with the Bombay Almond followed by the Pumpkin Gingerbread. You have no idea how excited I am about the fact that the Pumpkin Gingerbread is caffeine-free. This means I will be able to enjoy it before bed, cozied up in front of the TV decked out in my favourite pj’s and fluffiest slippers. Thank you Amoda Tea for sending us a little box of joy right before the holidays. I couldn’t be happier.
XOXO
