Beauty Box 5 Review December 2016

Beauty Box 5 is a subscription-based, beauty sampling service that delivers 5 deluxe samples and full-sized products right to your door every month.  Consider them your product-junkie spirit animals. They want to make your makeup bag fun again. They kindly sent me this box for review.

December Theme

The theme for December is “Just Add Confetti” and their Facebook page says “December is for parties”. Given these two statements, I’m assuming we will find some party prepping beauty products inside this month’s box. Personally I’m not much of a party girl, but I still love to prep.

Let’s have a look at what we received this month:

Jelly Pong Pong Liquid Gossamer

Hello, holiday radiance! This lightweight, liquid illuminator provides the perfect highlight: just dot and blend with fingers or a brush onto cheekbones, tip of the nose, or brow bone for a soft glow.

I still can’t get use to the Jelly Pong Pong name, anyone else agree? Anyways, when it comes to the product itself, I’m actually quite excited. If I would have received this 6 months ago, it would have gone straight in the gift pile. But……I finally introduced highlighters into my makeup routine about a month ago and LOVE how pretty they make your skin look. If you are anything like me, you need a tutorial for items like this, so I highly recommend checking out their Facebook Page. There’s a great tutorial that was posted on December 21st. She makes it look SO easy!

Neutrogena Rainbath

With a combo of spices, fruit, and herbs, meet your fresh first step to any party-ready routine! Apply a dime-size amount to a loofah & work into a rich, conditioning lather that leaves skin smoothed without soapy residue.

This may not be the most exciting item, but it’s a respected brand, and a bath routine necessity. I love all Neutrogena products and can always use another travel size body wash for my overnight bag.

Amlactin Cerapeautic Restoring Body Lotion

Instantly transform your dry, rough skin with this moisturizer. The patented Ultrapex in combination with ceramides relieves dryness for up to 24 hours. Apply after your daily shower (with the body wash above) and uncover softer skin that’s holiday party ready.

I don’t know about you, but my skin is extremely dry right now. It happens this time every year. It evens gets a little itchy, so I need some hardcore moisture to get it back to normal. This particular lotion is fragrance free so I will probably layer it under one of my favourite lotions.

Professional Freezing Finish Spray

Keep your office party updo and date night curls in place with this haute hairspray. It tackles flyaways without ever feeling tacky, and is perfectly purse-sized.

I’m always happy to receive purse-sized products, especially hairspray. Do you know how many times I wish I had hairspray in my purse?

Hikari Lip Gloss

These highly pigmented glosses are perfect to wear alone or layer over lipstick for a more intense finish. The semi-matte formula provides both rich moisture and a color that lasts throughout the day or night.

I’ve tried this brand before, and I can definitely confirm that it is very pigmented. The bright red is perfect for Winter parties so they are certainly sticking to the theme.

Beauty Box 5 Review December 2016 – Final Thoughts

I think Beauty Box 5 did a great job with their December box. It definitely has a “holiday party” vibe going on with the highlighter and the red gloss. It also includes three really great “prepping” products – body wash, lotion and hairspray. Over the last couple months I have been asked by a few of you what Beauty Box would make a good present and BB5 was always on the list. I know at least 4 of you who ended up gifting this box. You really can’t go wrong with the price point and the value. I Will always be a BB5 fan.
