April Box Details
The April BuddhiBox has a wonderful theme: “Grounding” and comes with a great quote to inspire that theme:
“Maybe you are searching in the branches, for what only appears in the roots.” – Rumi Faizu
Grounding is the perfect theme for this month. Since the weather is getting warmer we can finally emerge from being cooped up inside to at least get some fresh air and maybe a walk in the grass to reconnect with Mother Earth. The items in this month’s BuddhiBox certainly help with that as they remind us to take care of her and ourselves too.
Here’s a look at what was in this month’s BuddhiBox:
Earth Perfume Spray from Gypsy Soul Organics ($30)
“This botanical perfume features soft strains of sensual Ylang Ylang flowers blended with sunny Sweet Orange Peel. Patchouli leaves, Sage flowers and Cedarwood sit just below the surface, grounding the sweetness in smokier woodsy notes. The result is an earthy scent that’s both warm and enticing.”
This perfume smells so wonderfully grounding. It’s super earthy and woodsy, as the name suggests, but has a, sweet and warm undertone. I mean, just one smell and it feels like a soothing, yet strengthening calm takes over. It’s a bit of an intense smell, but it’s fresh, crisp and clean. It’s consistency and application method make it more like a body spray or aura spray and I’d actually more likely use it for the later. It would be perfect for use during a yoga or meditation session with grounding intentions to really heighten that feeling.
Chunky Amethyst Bracelet from Kheops ($25)
“The Amethyst stone is known to support spiritual connection, is calming and can help with sleep. Some people report it helps with focus, staying on task and productivity. All especially helpful when working from home.”
I love amethyst for it’s vibrant purple color and it’s calming healing powers. This bracelet is so pretty and simple and would be great for every day wear. I’m intrigued that it’s healing powers also include help with sleep as I’ve been looking for more things to help me get a more peaceful night of sleep so I’ll be definitely adding this to my collection of helpers. I probably wouldn’t wear it to bed, but maybe keep it on my nightstand instead or use it during a wind down meditation.
Mandarin Orange Ginger Chews from Prince of Peace ($4)
“Just yumm. Ginger is an herb with earthly energies that can help one to heal and adapt to new things.”
These certiainly sound tasty! I love orange anything for it’s tart sweetness and ginger adds such a nice spicy punch so the two together sound like a great flavor match. These kind of seem to have the texture of a tootsie roll so they are thicker and chewier than something like a gummy. Ginger is said to help with digestion so maybe these would make a nice little after meal treat!
Gold Immunity Tea from Organifi ($5)
“A new take on an ancient secret: Immune system strengthening herbs, virus-battling antioxidants, and fortifying phytonutrients all in one delicious, calming “Golden Milk” night time tea!”
This drink sounds delicious! It’s an herbal tea blend that’s formulated with all organic ingredients to soothe your system and senses and makes for the perfect night cap. It says it tastes like ginger tea, so likely a bit spicy sweet and warming. It’s turmeric and reishi infused for help with inflammation and over-all calming. It can be mixed with coconut milk, almond milk or a smoothie. I’m thinking it sounds like a great match for coconut milk which would give it a nice creamy texture. I can’t wait to try this one and see if it could also help improve my sleep!
Produce Bags from Lotus Trolley Bags ($3)
“These mesh bags are perfect for all your fruits, veggies, bulk foods and more. They are washable, reusable, and a great way to reduce plastic waste. Yogi Tip: Use these bags for stashing and washing sweaty yoga clothes.”
I absolutely love that this month’s contents came in these reusable produce bags! Usually the items come in a cute “BuddiBox” drawstring bag, but I have such a collection of them by now I was starting to not know what to do with them all so this change of pace is very welcome. Plus, they are just so useful. I try to remember produce bags when I go to the store which of course isn’t too often at the moment, but when I finally get back these will be coming with me since grocery produce bags are single use and the waste really adds up. There are two sizes for different types and amounts of produce and they both have drawstring closures to keep everything in.
Earth Salt Bath from Soven Rays ($11)
“Experience luxury bath and shower salts the way nature intended with powerful combination of pure organic ingredients. These salts peel-away the energies of the day and the oils seal in nutrients to soothe and nurture the skin.”
This bath salt sounds so refreshing and soothing! I love taking baths but haven’t taken one in awhile so this is a nice reminder to get back to taking care of myself in that way. You can either use them in a bath or in a shower for a scrub-like experience. It’s made with dead sea salt, epsom salt, himalayan salt, and cane sugar along with jojoba oil and pomegranate oil to moisturize skin too. It also has the essential oils of lavender, orange, cinnamon and clove so it likely has a sweet soothing scent with a hint of spice and warmth.
BuddhiBox Review April 2020 – Final Thoughts
I always love the holistic vibe of BuddhiBox and how there’s always such a nice and interesting variety of items that always tie back to the theme in some way. Of course the items almost always center around self-care, but with this month’s theme of grounding it feels like that even more so along with reminders to take care of Mother Earth too (looking at those reusable produce bags- so good!). I also like that the items always inspire spiritual moments, but even if you’re not into that you would still find the items useful and helpful too. You don’t have to meditate to enjoy the calming effects of the perfume, bath salts or amethyst, but they’d all enhance a meditation well and you don’t have to be into holistic health to enjoy the tea or ginger chews, but the benefits really intrigue me. As always it was another well-rounded and thoughtful selection of items this month!
