August Box Details
The August BuddhiBox is a soul care package that happens to be packed with some awesome goods. The included info card shares a saying that is a great theme for the month that encompasses the earth elements:
Water soothes and heals. Air refreshes and revives. Earth grounds and holds. Fire is a burning reminder of our own will and creative power. Swallow their spells. ~Victoria Erickson
I’m getting a strong vibe from this box to get outside! And get outside while the weather is still beautiful! I’m feeling reminded that summer is winding down and to take advantage of being outside as much as possible. Of course you can still access the earth elements during winter but they are just so much easier to feel during these fleeing summer months. The items in this month’s box really remind me of the earth and her elements. Right when I opened the box I was hit with the scent of grounded, sweet earthiness and found that all the items are earth related.
Here’s a look at what was in this month’s box:
Scentuals Natural & Organic Skin Care – Cedarwood Essential Oil ($10)
Cedarwood essential oil has been used since ancient times; Tibetans and Native American cultures recognized the oil’s ability to calm the body while also rejuvenating the mind and spirit. This organic and all natural formula can be used for aromatherapy, to help clear congestion, or to moisturize your hair and scalp.
This is what was smelling so good right out of the box! Cedarwood has the most wonderful scent that smells a bit like campfire wood but also smells a bit sweet and like forest greenery. Due to its earthy scent it’s a grounding aroma that will help you feel calm. I could smell this stuff all day! It’s actually the perfect scent for heading into fall and would be great to use in a diffuser. I don’t even want fall to come but I keep smelling this and thinking of those crisp and cool nights wrapped in a blanket! That’s the part of fall I like.
Blend Bee – Earth Blend Tea ($10)
Planet Earth created the herbs for this lively and slightly spicy blend. Water will bring out it’s natural flavors when boiled over with fire. Blow lightly with air to cool to your liking. Allow your spirit to be one.
First of all I love the description above and how it incorporates all of the earth elements into the preparation of this tea – I’d never thought of this and it’s so true! It seems the little motto for this tea (from their packaging) is “Earth grows, water flows, fire glows, air blows & spirit knows” – how clever!? Anyway, this tea is made with all organic ingredients including Rooibos, cinnamon, fennel seed, papaya leaf & ginkgo biloba leaf. It says it’s caffeinated but I’m not sure where the caffeine comes from so maybe it’s not? This tea comes loose so you’ll need a tea bag or steeper to prepare.
Lilac & Willow – Purifying Eucalyptus Candle ($15)
Eucalyptus is considered a holy tree for Australian Aboriginals. It represents the division of underworld, Earth and heaven. At a spiritual level the eucalyptus has a purifying effect. Negative energy disappears in the place where you burn a eucalyptus leaf. Use this to cleanse your sacred space.
I can’t stop smelling this candle! The scent of eucalyptus is generally pretty potent to me, and not in a bad way, but a bit more medicinal usually. This candle, on the other hand, is a softened version of eucalyptus that smells a bit sweeter and like greenery. That’s likely due to the addition of fir, cedar and pine that help round out the aroma. The scent definitely reminds me of chillier days too, dare I say winter? I would never wish for winter to arrive but this candle will definitely help soften my mood about the season, that’s for sure!
Spirit Wind Chimes ($18)
Wind chimes have been around for thousands of years. The Romans believed the sound of bells kept evil spirits away. In Asia, wind chimes are thought to bring good luck and are used in Feng Shui to achieve harmony and peace. Allow the melodic sound of the chimes singing in a calm breeze bring you peace.
This item is heavy on the air connection to the earth elements since of course wind and air will help activate the lovely sound it makes. I just love wind chimes and would have like 50 of them if it wouldn’t annoy my neighbors! I feel calmer when I hear the noise they make and they always remind me of summer and those warm breezes the season brings. I feel like this one is too pretty to hang outside, but I might do it anyway because it makes such a nice sound.
Dia Naturals – Organic Healing Face and Body Mud Masque ($30)
Heal and nourish your skin with this unique, mineral-rich mask formulated with pure Indian Fuller’s Earth and Aloe Vera. Created with natural earth minerals, this make hydrates, exfoliates and facilitates blood circulation leaving skin radiant and renewed.
I love a good face mask, especially one that detoxes and leaves skin glowy! I’ve never tried a mask with Fuller’s Earth clay before so I had to look up what it was. It’s said to have incredible drawing and purifying properties and is great for oily skin. It draws those oils right out of pores and leaves them squeaky clean. Since this clay can be potent it’s mixed with bentonite clay to balance the strength. I’m intrigued and am looking forward to trying this out.
Tumbled Stones Desert Rose ($5)
The Desert Rose is also referred to as the Sand Rose. Found in dry, desert regions, each one is said to contain a unique spirit guardian. It has been used as talismans for protection and can help boost self confidence. Desert Rose will support your in your manifestations.
I had a rock collection when I was little and this type of stone was one of my favorites. I was always fascinated by the fossil-y look of it and now that I’m looking at it again I’m re-intrigued by how nature creates such interesting and beautiful things. This particular stone really does look like a sweet little rose and I love it! And what I love even more is that its typically thought of as a protection stone. Glad to be adding this one to my collection.
BuddhiBox Review August 2018 – Final Thoughts
As usual, BuddhiBox doesn’t disappoint! I can’t find one item that I wouldn’t use or want to give a try. I love that the theme this month literally grounds you and all the items remind you of the earth and her power. I’m especially looking forward to burning that candle, when winter inevitably arrives of course. And until then I’ll listen to my wind chime in the late summer breeze.
