BuddhiBox Review December 2018
BuddhiBox is a monthly Yoga inspired box that’s based on discovery, union and compassion. Each box contains 4-6 sample and full sized yoga-related products that will inspire your life, workouts and community. Products will be from different categories, including fitness, skincare, and fragrance. You’ll get to try staff favorites, product launches, and more. BuddhiBox believes it’s better to give than to receive, so each month a portion of proceeds from the sale of the boxes is donated to a different charity. They kindly sent us this box for review.
December Box Details
The December BuddhiBox is all about tuning into the power of the winter solstice it comes with this great reminder of a quote:
Do the earth a favor, don’t hide your magic. ~Yung Pueblo
Winter solstice happens to be the day with the shortest amount of light per year and is a great day to cozy up and look inward because of that. It’s a time to celebrate the power of the darkness and embrace the unknown in the world and within each of us. So take some me time this month and discover something new, maybe a better way to care for yourself or express yourself. The items in this month’s box should help do just that!
Here’s a look at what was in this month’s box:
Drawing Board Shop Note Cards (2) ($10)
These lovely yoga-inspired hand-drawn note cards are one-of-a-kind! Produced by a talented mom in coastal New York, they include original watercolor images. Use them to send an encouraging note to a friend or a thank card for a holiday gift.
These cards would be perfect to send a heartfelt note to someone you love around the holidays. Not only does writing help express your emotions but receiving a card can help uplift someone else’s spirits giving you both a boost of happiness. The artwork on these cards is so pretty and simple. The yoga inspired images evoke a sense of peace and can remind you to take a deep breath and slow down. If you like the artwork too much to send to someone else you could always frame these and put them near where you practice yoga or meditation too.
Crystal Crowe – Light & Magic Candle Tin ($14)
Need some extra positive healing energy this holiday season? Made from 100% soy wax and including eco wicks and biodegradable glitter, this lovely candle is vegan and infused with quartz crystal energy and Reiki to bring extra healing energy to your space. Perfect for your yoga room or studio or your favorite quiet spot.
This candle has a soft and calming scent. It smells a bit floral, a bit sweet and also very warm like musk. Overall I’d say the scent is cozy, like a warm blanket. It would be a great addition to a meditation practice to celebrate a solstice or the new year – both reminders of rebirth and renewal. Especially since it includes a small quartz crystal which is said to bring clarity to your heart and mind – perfect for when you’re needing a fresh start.
Yamei Silver-plated Opalite Necklace ($35)
An iridescent opaline stone adorns a simple silver-plated chain. A perfect necklace to wear everyday with your stretchy pants or to play dress up with. Opaline increases your personal power and helps lift your self-esteem, making it the perfect stone to wear when you need that extra mental boost. Shine and sparkle yogi!
The stone on this necklace is opalite and is said to not only increase your personal power like it says above but also help balance out your yin-yang energies, or your light and dark energies which is a perfect stone for the winter solstice when the balance of dark vs. light is at it’s highest. It can help you look inward and heal any emotions that need tending to. So, not only is this a nice necklace to wear day to day (since it’s neutral and will go with everything) but is also a good item to add to a mediation practice when you are looking for peace and new energy.
Me Time Botanicals Sweet Kisses Organic Lip Oil ($16)
The winter chill and dry air can make your lips less than kissable. But this mint-flavored balm will hydrate your lips while also providing a slight plumping effect. Made from natural essential oils, it’ll keep your lips soft and glowing. Quick find some mistletoe!
Dry lips are not fun at all so I’m always looking for anything to keep them hydrated when temperatures get icy cold. It’s made with two hydrating base oils – sweet almond oil and avocado oil that are lightweight when applied but will help retain moisture and softness. It also includes sweet orange oil and peppermint oil which give it a nice light and fresh cooling scent. The application is a breeze since it comes in a roller ball tube and since the roller ball is metal it gives a really nice cool soothing sensation upon application.
Original Way Selenite Heart ($14)
A heart symbolizes more than love when it’s carved from beautiful, natural selenite. Selenite’s energy brings peace, purity and higher consciousness. It is a wonderful stone for meditation. Keep this high-vibe crystal beside your bed for a good night’s sleep or tuck it in your bag and take it with you to your next yoga class.
This stone is perfect for a winter solstice meditation since it’s a great time to look inward and discover your inner peace and clear your mind. It helps stabilize and balance the emotional body so is great to keep with you at all times too. The heart shape is so pretty and the iridescence of the stone is a great reminder of your inner light.
Halsa Sweet Savasana Oil ($12)
I’m just here for the Savasana. Find savasana anytime with this essential oil blend, designed to soothe and bring peace. Sweet-smelling oil includes lavender to calm the mind as well as sweet orange, chamomile and clary sage. Apply it to your pulse points to release tension and erase negative emotions. Savasana and chill.
This roller oil smells so good! It’s uplifting but instantly brings a calm to your mind. It’s great to add to your pulse points or even on your chest before savasana to breath in deep and help relax you. I love roller ball oils since they can easily be tucked easily in your purse or yoga bag and brought with you anywhere for instant relief.
BuddhiBox Review December 2018 – Final Thoughts
I don’t really like the season of winter but I do like celebrating the winter solstice since it’s a great time to slow down just before the holidays and focus on yourself and what you need. The items in this month’s BuddhiBox really help to create that sense of peace and soothing. I especially like the candle and Savasana oil and look forward to using them in an upcoming yoga practice to bring thoughts of calm and renewal as we head into the new year.
