BuddhiBox Review January 2019
BuddhiBox is a monthly Yoga inspired box that’s based on discovery, union and compassion. Each box contains 4-6 sample and full sized yoga-related products that will inspire your life, workouts and community. Products will be from different categories, including fitness, skincare, and fragrance. You’ll get to try staff favorites, product launches, and more. BuddhiBox believes it’s better to give than to receive, so each month a portion of proceeds from the sale of the boxes is donated to a different charity. They kindly sent us this box for review.
January Box Details
The January BuddhiBox is centered around the theme of protection & empowerment. The quote of the month is a great mantra to inspire that theme:
And you? When will you begin that long journey into yourself? ~Rumi
The new year is a great time to pause the hustle and bustle and look inward. It’s a great time to kind of hibernate and focus on protecting that time of discovery too. The items in this month’s BuddhiBox will help get you in that mindset so you can really focus on your journey to self discovery for the seasons ahead.
Here’s a look at what was in this month’s BuddhiBox:
BuddhiBox Evil Eye Pouch ($20)
Looking for protection from misfortune or injury? This evil eye pouch may be just the talisman you need to keep you from harm. Large enough to hold phone or other essential items, you can keep it tucked in your gym bag or purse.
The image on this pouch invokes a sense of protection so you can be reminded of that sense of peace anywhere you take it. Not only that but it will protect and keep your smaller items together when stowed in a larger bag. I think this would be perfect to house cosmetics for when you travel or for everyday use in a work or gym bag.
Barre Girl Yoga Socks ($18)
Keep your yogi toes from sliding around in down dog. Designed to stay on tight, these grippy socks are ideal for yoga as well as barre or pilates. Made of a soft cotton blend, they also provide extra traction when you need it. Nama-stay!
I often notice that holding a yoga pose can be challenging when my feet start sliding out from under me. These socks would be perfect for helping prevent that, so that focus remains on the pose rather than trying to hold feet in place. I don’t do hot yoga but perhaps these would really help in that setting too? These socks are 80% cotton, have sturdy grippies on the bottom and 2 straps across the top to ensure that they don’t slip off.
YogaLifestyle VidaTea Sample ($6)
Relax with a soothing cup of this pleasant detox tea, featuring pure ingredients and no caffeine. Ideal for before bedtime.
These teas are intended to help detox your system naturally. There is a morning blend and an evening blend. The morning blend is made with yerba mate, puerh and oolong which will help wake your digestive system up and boost your energy to help get you through the day. The evening blend is made from chamomile, cinnamon, goji and ginger which all work to help calm your systems and gently detox while you sleep.
Savvy Stone Elixirs Kali Blend Spray ($16)
Call on the spirit fo the Hindu Goddess Kali when you use this refreshing spray. Kali was known for liberating souls and was viewed as the divine protector. This spray, which bears her name, surrounds the user with a calming, pleasant fragrance and invisible shield.
I love area spray aromas because they are a simple way to help enhance your mood. Just a quick spray into the air and you’re set. This one is made with hibiscus oil and is a light refreshing scent. Hibiscus was chosen because it symbolizes the goddess Kali’s tongue and her thirst for rebirth. It’s also made with the gemstone essence of Carnelian which was chosen because it promotes courage and helps one accomplish goals. This aroma spray should help enliven the desire to renew and refresh.
BuddhiBox Evil Eye Key Chain ($20)
Got some bad juju happening around you? Chase it away with our evil eye key chain, designed to help protect you from harm. This pretty keychain is created with sturdy enamel in beautiful hues of blue.
This keychain is really pretty! I love the more subtle and kind of artsy take on the third eye symbol and the tassel is a nice added touch. Since you take keys with you almost everywhere a keychain is the perfect place to keep a symbol of protection so you can ward off evil everywhere you go.
BuddhiBox Black Labradorite Bracelet ($20)
Labradorite is a powerful stone that can help expand spiritual awareness while keeping you grounded. Wearing this magical stone can help connect to the spirits of nature as well as provide protection. Wear it alone or stack with other bracelets.
I like the stones on this bracelet because they are a neutral grayish-green color but have a pretty kind of hidden iridescent glow when in the right lighting. They are a bit smaller stones too so it’s less of a statement piece and more suitable for everyday wear. The essence of labradorite is a wonderful reminder for the wearer to stay grounded.
Reiki Votive Candle “White Sage” ($5)
For over thousands of years, white sage has been believed to be a blessed, sacred, cleansing, purifying and protective plant. Invoke the spirits to guide and protect you when you burn this fragrant candle, made from a blend of essential oils. Use to seek out blessings of prosperity and health, and inspire safeguard.
Oh this candle smells so good! It’s a subtle and clean scent that is one I wish my house smelled like all the time. It’s less of a straight sage smell and instead a little bit sweeter or more floral. It’s a great way to give your space the properties of sage without having to smudge.
BuddhiBox Review January 2019 – Final Thoughts
The new year is one of my favorite times of year since it invokes personal change and a clean slate. The items in this month’s BuddhiBox inspire those feelings and help provide a protected space to cultivate them. I appreciate how this box and it’s contents always have a deeper meaning and inspiration because it makes me stop and think about how I can better myself and my surroundings. I always look forward to it’s arrival and this month did not disappoint!
