BuddhiBox Review October 2018
BuddhiBox is a monthly Yoga inspired box that’s based on discovery, union and compassion. Each box contains 4-6 sample and full sized yoga-related products that will inspire your life, workouts and community. Products will be from different categories, including fitness, skincare, and fragrance. You’ll get to try staff favorites, product launches, and more. BuddhiBox believes it’s better to give than to receive, so each month a portion of proceeds from the sale of the boxes is donated to a different charity. They kindly sent us this box for review.
October Box Details
The October BuddhiBox is all about self care! The items in this month’s box really are about helping you take time to focus on yourself with this mantra:
Rest and self-care are so important. When you take time to replenish your spirit, it allows you to serve others from the overflow.
This couldn’t be more true! It’s so easy to forget to put yourself first but if you’re drained then you run out of resources to give anything to anyone else. I think that’s why it’s so important to always try and do something that’s just for you, even if it’s something as small as applying a refreshing mask once a week or sipping a hot cup of tea while you wind down before bed. All the small things add up and can contribute to a more positive mindset overall. Have you self-cared lately? If not, you definitely should and to help you out this month’s BuddhiBox has some suggestions on how to get started.
Here’s a look at what was in this month’s box:
Love & Lotus Peace of Mind Lip Balm & Sugar Scrub Set ($10)
Minty fresh! That’s how your lips will feel and taste after using this soothing lip balm, made with natural and organic materials that won’t harm the environment. You can carry it in your purse or yoga bag and use it when your need a little peace of mind.
Lip balms and scrubs are essential products for me, especially during the winter months. My lips get so dry and cracked when the cooler temps hit. If I keep them hydrated all the time with a balm, especially overnight, and then use a lip scrub in the AM it keeps them much smoother and less prone to cracking. Because of that I’m really excited to test out this lip kit! I really like the scent of it as mint is always a refreshing and calming scent, not to mention that I feel like it helps your breath smell better too.
Ziva Soul Co. Hibiscus Clay Mask ($15)
A gentle exfoliant with scents of rose and hibiscus, this refreshing mask will leave your skin feeling soft and smooth without drying it out. It includes natural anti-aging properties too and is the perfect bedtime treatment for tired skin. Aaah!
Masks are such a good way to self care because they make you stop, rest and breathe for a bit while the product does it’s magic. They are perfect for applying before bedtime to help you wind down after a long day. I like this mask because it’s made with simple, all-natural ingredients including: ground hibiscus flowers, white kaolin clay, rose petals and essential oils. It’s so easy to use by just putting a bit of product in your palm or in a bowl, then adding a little water until it reaches a paste consistency and then you apply and let dry before rinsing off. This mask smells really good too, a little like a fruity floral aroma (from the rose and hibiscus) so that will add to the enjoyment of a relaxation sesh.
Real Beauty for a Cause Toner Tab ($4)
Need a deep cleanse after that sweaty workout? Just add to steaming water and this toner tab will purify your skin and keep your face looking clean, clear, and free of redness and irritation. Includes natural ingredients that are safe for skin.
I’ve never used this type of product before so I’m really intrigued by it! I know the importance of toning your skin as it helps balance and prep your skin for retaining moisture, so I think this will be a great product to try out. Because it’s intended to be used with steaming water it should also help open pores before you cleanse. I think you could use this for your face or even for a refreshing shower steam to treat your whole body. The scent is peppermint so would be great for either use to help you wake up or clear your mind.
Mystical Blossoms Namaste Sexy Tea ($15)
Delicious whether enjoyed cold after hot yoga or hot after a cold, brisk fall walk, Namaste Sexy Tea offers a fragrant and tasty blend of raspberry, orange peel, hibiscus, nettle leaf, and rose hips. Pause, sip and stay sexy.
I only drink herbal teas and anything with hibiscus happens to be my fave so this is a great item to receive in this month’s box. It’s a loose tea that comes with a reusable muslin bag for steeping. It’s scent is fruity and earthy and while it would be great iced, the cooler temps have me thinking that warmed up with a touch of honey would be best. The ingredients happen to be nourishing to the female system and give it some extra love through the menstruation cycle.
Mystical Blossoms Breathe Aromatherapy Inhaler ($6)
Adjust your mood, clear your sinuses, and relieve headaches with this all-natural inhaler. Made with essential oils like eucalyptus and peppermint. Reset your Ujayyi breath whenever you need a moment to just breathe.
I just love this type of product so much. It might be the easiest way to self-care on this list! It’s a portable inhaler that’s made of essential oils including eucalyptus, peppermint, fir needle, Italian lemon, cardamom, tea tree and laurel leaf. To use you just uncap, place near your nostril and breath in the aroma slowly. It will calm your senses and remind you to release tension while getting in some much needed deep breaths. You can bring this anywhere and take out when you’re feeling stressed or overwhelmed. It would be great to add to your bedtime routine or even to use along with a meditation practice.
BuddhiBox – Aromatherapy Necklace ($25)
Simple and delicate, our very own aromatherapy necklace serves as an essential oil diffuser, providing your with the beautiful scent of your favorite oil all day long. The clay lava bead is dainty and the chain is 24k gold. Namaste Zen all day.
I had been wanting to try one of these types of necklaces out so this was a great surprise to find one in this month’s box! The idea is that the bead has great absorption qualities so you can add a drop of any essential oil and wear around your neck to take advantage of the oils specific properties all day long. For example if you’re looking for stress relief you could add a drop of lavender or even mix and match oils for a custom blend. The possibilities are endless! The size of the necklace is about perfect too with the bead being maybe around a half an inch. I might even prefer it to be a little smaller, but this way it will hold the oil a little better.
Halsa Essentials- Asana Flow Essential Oil ($15)
This aromatic blend of citrus and lavender essential oils help to purify, uplift and soothe. Keep the essential oil with you wherever you go, to help you stay in the flow on and off your mat. Vegan and made in the USA.
This roll-on essential oil blend is so easy to bring with you anywhere and apply to wrists or temples when you’re in need of an uplift. It’s aroma is bright and fresh, made from lavender, lemon, Mandarin and bois de rose essential oils. It smells so good, like a clean scent and would help cleanse your mind and reduce negative thoughts. I think this would be a good blend to use for starting your day off on the right foot but could be good for a yoga or meditation practice as well if you’re in need of opening your mind.
BuddhiBox Review October 2018 – Final Thoughts
Once again BuddhiBox delivered some really fun items! I really like that this month’s box products can easily align with a yoga lifestyle but don’t necessarily have to relate to a yoga practice, so they are extra inclusive of anyone needing a little self-love. They are a great reminder to take care of yourself before getting into the holiday madness when it’s easy to get caught up in worrying and thinking about everyone else. Any one of these products could help you start a good routine towards self-care or even use them all to really increase those feel-good vibes.
