BuddhiBox Review September 2019
BuddhiBox is a monthly Yoga inspired box that’s based on discovery, union and compassion. Each box contains 4-6 sample and full sized yoga-related products that will inspire your life, workouts and community. Products will be from different categories, including fitness, skincare, and fragrance. You’ll get to try staff favorites, product launches, and more. BuddhiBox believes it’s better to give than to receive, so each month a portion of proceeds from the sale of the boxes is donated to a different charity. They kindly sent us this box for review.
September Box Details
The September BuddhiBox has a wonderful theme: “The Space Between the Breath” and comes with a great quote to inspire that theme:
“When I stopped to pay attention to where my breathing was deep and settled, the truth began to emerge from the mist.” ~Betsy Canas Garmon
There could be no better time than fall to stop and catch your breath. It’s a time to slow down after the busyness of summer and feel the air in your lungs. I love summer the most, but that crisp fall air with a hint of warmth left in it is certainly hard to beat. It’s little reminders of the passing summer like that which help me savor it even as the seasons change. If you’re looking to slow down as the seasons change, the items in this month’s box will also serve as great reminders to savor those deep breaths, just like summer.
Here’s a look at what was in this month’s BuddhiBox:
Indo Love Pair of Hand-stamped Rings ($36)
“Hand-stamped aluminum “Breathe” Ring stamped with a yogini in lotus pose, and a brass “Prana” Ring stamped with infinity symbol. (Lightly wash with soap to deter tarnishing brass ring.) These rings are a reminder to stay connected and just be.”
There couldn’t be a better reminder to take those breaths than to see it in writing right there on your hand. These rings are simply, yet intentionally designed and work so well for every day wear. One says “Breathe” and the other says “Prana” which means “breath, or life-giving force”. The “Breathe” ring fits on my index finger and the “Prana” ring fits on my thumb so you could definitely wear both at the same time. They are both about 1/2” in width. I imagine wearing these in hopes of creating grounding moments in my day so when I look at them I’m reminded to catch my breath when things get busy.
Gypsy Soul Organics Sister Wind Yoga Mat Spritz ($25)
“We love this woman-owned company, and just couldn’t resist some yoga mat spray with the name “wind” in it for this month’s Breath theme. Made with organic EOs, shake well and mist at any time during your yoga session. Spritz your face, neck and torso, around the perimeter of your yoga practice space, and lightly on your mat.”
I have a few other Gypsy Soul Organics products and they always smell so wonderful. This one is no exception! It’s a multi-purpose spray that can be used from your room down to your mat to calm and ground you just like your breath. It smells of eucalyptus and mint with a hint of lavender. It’s a very cooling and relaxing scent and actually helps clear out my sinuses – which coincidentally leads to better breathing!
BuddhiBox Eco-Friendly String Backpack ($15)
“Printed with the BuddhiBox logo, the heart-shaped Bodhi leaf symbolizes Enlightenment. It’s said that Buddha became enlightened under the Bodhi tree. Use this earth-friendly backpack for your change of clothes, your Sister Wind Spray, and any other must haves for your practice.”
You really can never have too many bags and this little drawstring backpack will be handy for so many uses. I like how it’s a neutral color and has a simple design on it. It will be great to take to a yoga class when needing to tote a few things a long but don’t want to bring an entire clunky purse.
Plant Life Breath Easy Essential Oil ($10)
“Breath In, Breath Out. Suffering from a cold, flu or allergies? Relieve stuffy noses and chest congestion the natural way! This blend is full of essential oils known for their respiratory support. (Also effective for muscle aches and pains.)”
Another great smelling product! Essential oils have so many uses but since this one in particular is breath focused I think it would be great to use in a diffuser or even just applied under the nose to facilitate deeper breaths. It says it can be applied to the chest to help relieve congestion too, so I’m curious about that use as well. The blend includes camphor, cedarleaf, cedarwood, peppermint, eucalyptus, fir needle and rosemary so it smells fresh and grounding.
Toe Talk Inhale Exhale Dandelion Socks ($10)
“Focus on your breathing in these cotton blend socks whether meditating, practicing pilates, barre class or hanging out at home.”
Another great written reminder to breathe with these socks! And you can never have too many reminders because, even though breath is automatic, deep and nourishing breaths often take intention. I love the idea of wearing these during a yoga practice since many of poses direct your eyes downward, you can’t miss the reminder to keep that breath flowing.
BuddhiBox Review September 2019 – Final Thoughts
Life can get so busy and hectic that we forget to take care of ourselves and breath is one of the simplest things we can do as a form of self care. So this month’s BuddhiBox is a perfect reminder to stop and focus on the inhale/exhale amidst the hustle and bustle. That’s one of the main reasons I like this box so much is that when it shows up on my doorstep it provides a pause and is always fill with inspiration. I love all the items included, but especially the Sister Wind Spray and the Breath Easy Essential Oil since they directly affect the senses for breathing. You should definitely get this month’s box if you haven’t already, but if you miss out, here’s your reminder to stop and take a deep breath too.
