California Found Review October 2018

California Found is a subscription box that delivers beautifully crafted California artisan products to your door every month. They currently offer month-to-month subscriptions for $49.00 or three-month subscriptions for $144.00 and free shipping within the US.

Every month you will receive a collection of expertly curated items with a total retail value of at least $90 so nearly double the cost of the box. One thing I like about this subscription box is that the contents are a surprise! You won’t know what’s inside until you receive your box and unwrap the goodness! It makes the arrival and unboxing so much more exciting.

We lived in California for a few years and my husband and I really loved it there! The products inside of the California Found box are all made by local small businesses which is so awesome. Living in California was a different experience for me and I met so many great people who ran their own little business so when I heard about California Found I just knew I needed to get my hands on a box! A fun little added bonus to your box is the band that the cards are wrapped in. It is embedded with wildflower seeds you can plant and watch it grow!

California Found delivers the California lifestyle through a box filled with natural spa & beauty products, locally sourced gourmet treats, beautifully crafted home goods, and infinitely wearable jewelry. Each product includes a notecard that tells a beautiful story of the maker and you get to really see how their business started and connect with them. You can also find their web address on their individual notecards in your box and in the “Meet the Maker” blog posts on the California Found website.

Barn Owl Feather (MSRP: $22.00)

This gorgeous feather art print was painted in warm fall colors by local artist Mika Harmony. I personally love stationery and to me, this art print is very special because I am looking at a feather with a meaning. The artist wrote, “This feather watercolor art print celebrates the majesty of owls with their gorgeous shades of browns and spots of white.” She describes what this feather means and what her inspiration was. I think it’s a beautiful thing to learn a little about these artists from the cards inside the box, it really makes you appreciate the work of these small business owners.

Naked Zen Scrub (MSRP: $10.00)

Angela Johnson-Rogers, CEO and founder of Naked Scrubs, struggled to find something to help her skin. After experimenting with oils, herbs, and vegetables she has created everything from lotions to face masks to bath teas using natural ingredients that are locally sourced to help keep your skin healthy. The aroma of the zen scrub included is so soothing. As soon as you open the container you can smell the relaxing scent of lavender. The price range for these products is also amazing and definitely not something you’ll find in stores.

Moonlight Herbal Blend (MSRP: $15.00)

Jenni Curtice knows self-care is very important and believes that being your best, most authentic self is the highest contribution you can offer to this world. With her business, Luna Tea Co., she spreads a message of authenticity and self empowerment. These organic hand crafted teas take just a few minutes to brew and enjoy. Jenni says “Tea is more than just a drink, it’s a lifestyle.” California Found has included the caffeine free Moonlight Herbal Blend which contains basil, lavender, and peppermint. Lavender provides the relaxing smell and taste while the peppermint gives it a refreshing, cool taste. I also really love the resealable packaging which makes it easy to store and keeps the loose leaf tea blend fresh.

Spring Bliss Nail Polish (MSRP: $15.00)

7True is a Southern California based company founded by three moms. They deliver vegan, cruelty free nail care experiences and donate a portion of their proceeds to nonprofits that support women empowerment. Inside of this month’s box is a nail polish in the color Spring Bliss. It is a soft pink polish, perfect for an everyday look. I prefer neutrals so I had to try this nail polish out as soon as I got it! I was impressed that it dried so much faster than the usual polishes I use which is always a good thing. It was easy to apply and after only two coats, the color looked great!

MB Bead & Stitch Earrings (MSRP: $15.00)

Michelle Sanders works with organic textures and natural gemstones to create jewelry pieces in Southern California. She is inspired by the natural beauty all around her and if you have ever been to California you know just how beautiful it is. These petite earrings are simple and can be paired with lots of styles. They have a repurposed leather backing with gemstones dangling in the front.

“I Wish I Was Apple Picking” Candle (MSRP: $15.00)

Katie and Kevin Rush brought candle greatness to California in 2016 with their company Rush Candle Company. Katie Rush says their natural soy candles were “love at first sniff” when she was experimenting with making her own. The “I Wish I Was Apple Picking” candle smells so delicious! I set it out in my living room and it smells like a fresh apple pie baking in the oven. I am definitely going to be ordering more of these candles for gifts and for my own home.

California Found Review October 2018 – Final Thoughts

California Found is simply amazing! It is one of the only boxes I know that supports so many local businesses and really connects you with them. I feel like they really did deliver the “California lifestyle” with all the handmade, vegan-friendly, and natural products. I especially love that they provide links to check out the shops in the box along with individual discount codes to order more of these incredible products. The value of the box contents is well worth the monthly subscription and the packaging is very nice and makes unboxing so much fun. The golden yellow box with the blue reminds me of a day at the beach in sunny California.
