Canadian Beauty Box Review Winter 2022

Today’s subscription box won best beauty box earlier this year in our fourth annual Canadian subscription box awards. Founded in 2019, Ontario-based Canadian Beauty Box is a seasonal box that sends you a mix of beauty, fashion and lifestyle products by Canadian brands valued at $140+. The Winter 2022 box is my first and features seven items by six different businesses, all but one of which were new to me. Let’s take a look.*

*They kindly sent this box for review.

Canadian Beauty Box ships in a kraft paper wrapping so you don’t have a giant shipping label or schmutz diminishing the joy a great-looking box can bring. And the festive plaid pattern on the Winter box definitely made me smile. (It’s making me smile right now! 😁) I’m going to pack some ornaments in it after Christmas or use it to store Christmas cards.

Canadian Beauty Box offers both quarterly and annual subscriptions and ships across Canada and the US. Quarterly subscriptions are $59.95 CAD/box + shipping. Annual subscriptions are $209.95 + shipping. Boxes ship in March, June, September and December.

“From self-care, to warm & cozy with a touch of glam you will be full of wonder this season.”

OMG Leave-In Conditioner (Brand with a Heart) · “Our Hero has a NEW look! New tube but same formula and scent. A Pina Colada scented super light weight smoothing and detangling shield fortified with our M+ Cocktail of Maqui Berries, Bamboo extract, our signature blend of Superfruits, and our Protein Complex to deliver a mega dose of potent antioxidants and vitamins to fortify, nourish and restore hair from the inside out. $22”

I rarely think to use a leave-in conditioner but maybe I should? Especially since my hair’s getting longer again — the longer it is, the more tangled it gets. The Pina Colada scent seems more fitting for a summer box but I prefer it to the heavy vanilla or spicy berry fragrances you get in some products this time of year.

Oatmeal, Milk and Honey Bath Bomb (Soak Bath Co) · “Looking for a cozy scent to bring a little calm to your hectic day? Oatmeal, Milk and Honey is the coziest scent in the SOAK collection. Think newborn baby smell meets the sweetness of fresh honey. Grab your favourite candle, that book you’ve been meaning to read for weeks now and a hot cup of tea. Draw yourself a nice warm bath and get ready to indulge in the nourishing oils of this moisturizing bath bomb. $10”

I’ve tried this bath bomb a few times now (not this very one but the same one from other boxes 😉) and it’s such a treat! We moved this summer and our new house has a stand-alone tub that feels uber luxurious but a bomb like this one takes it to a whole other level.

Allantoin Hand Cream with Flaxseed (Verum Beauty Labs) · “This quick-absorbing, non-oily hand cream moisturizes and protects your hands with carefully selected vegan ingredients, This formula is pH balanced to support your skin’s barrier function and provides long-lasting hydration. With the uplifting scent of lemongrass. $20”

I like to slather my hands with a good cream before bed but skip a few days and they’re as dry as toast. Which is how they are now. This cream is soothing, smells great and not the least bit greasy. I’m here for it! 🙋‍♀️

“Vancouver” Lashes and Black Miracle Liner (Lamb Lashes) · “Subtle beauty is what the Vancouver style is all about! These faux mink wispy lashes give you added length for a flirty and fun look. The soft and comfortable band make wearing them all day a breeze! Our Miracle Liner lash adhesive is a real game changer! Lash glue is a thing of the past when you use our Miracle Liner. Simply follow the directions on the package and you will experience a quicker and easier lash application process especially with our new & improved formula! $34”

Ooooh how glamourous! I haven’t tried lashes in ages but va-va-va voom! These look beautiful. And I love that Canadian Beauty Box included the adhesive to go with. My birthday’s in January. Maybe I’ll save these to wear then. Who doesn’t want to feel fancy on their birthday?

Towel Twist (FaceOff Cloth) · “Our unique high quality microfibre technology absorbs moisture faster, greatly reducing hair drying time. No wringing out, squeezing or rubbing. Towel Twist is super absorbent and leaves your hair just damp, ready to be blow dried or air dried. It is ideal for long, short, straight, curly or wavy hair. It prevents breakage and frizz, thus promoting hair health. The button and loop design makes it comfortable and easy to use. $25”

We have a couple of hair towels so I’m going to gift this one but it does feel super soft and they can cut down on drying time for sure. Which is especially nice in the winter. Just thinking about walking around the house with wet hair makes me feel chilly!

Alpine Mitts (Orb Clothing) · “The Alpine mitts will be your go-to this winter season. Fleece-lined to keep your hands extra toasty on those cold Canadian winter days. $35”

The fleece lining on these is everything! So soft and cozy. We’re due for a major snowfall later today so these will come in handy (pun intended) when we need to shovel a path out.

I’ve been following Canadian Beauty Box for a while so I was so excited to finally try it! I love the mix of products, all useful little luxuries to keep the winter doldrums at bay and solid quality too. And the packaging makes a great first impression. This is a nice one for gifting.
