I have been testing out some other recipe delivery boxes lately and I keep coming back to Chef’s Plate. I wanted to point this out because I think it is important for you to know. Some of the other recipe delivery kits have features I love, but overall Chef’s Plate is better. Of all the boxes, Chef’s Plate continues to come up with the best recipes. There hasn’t been a recipe from Chef’s Plate we haven’t liked. I don’t know who is responsible for their menu creation, but one thing is for sure, they do an amazing job!
Here’s a look at one of the recipes I made this week:
Recipe: Black Pepper Stir-Fry
Ingredients:
- 350 g extra firm tofu
- 5 oz jasmine rice
- 1 yellow bell pepper
- 3 oz snow peas
- 2 green onions
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 thai red chili
- 1 oz dry sherry wine
- 1 oz tamari
- 2 packs brown sugar
- 1 g crushed black pepper
Directions:
- Cook Rice: I used my rice cooker but you can also cook it on the stove with 1 1/4 cups water
- Prepare Ingredients: dry tofu and cut into 1-inch pieces, slice green onion, halve snow peas, slice yellow pepper, crush garlic, thinly slice red chili
- Cook Tofu: heat oil in large pan, cook tofu for 6-8 minutes until lightly browned
- Cook Vegetables: add more oil and garlic to pan, add yellow pepper and cook for 2 minutes, add snow peas and cook for 1 minute, remove from pan
- Make Sauce: in same pan add tamari, sugar, sherry, pepper and 3 tbs water, cook for 1 minute, until thickened slightly
- Plate & Serve: plate rice and stir-fry, drizzle with sauce, garnish with green onion and red chili
Notes:
- Tofu: I tossed my tofu in some corn starch before adding to the pan, I also added some pepper and salt
- Red Chili: I chopped this very thin and added it to the pan when I was cooking the vegetables
XOXO
