Elephant Books Review April 2020

Elephant Books is a book club for kids! Books chosen by experts, wrapped and delivered each month. They kindly sent us this box for review.

This will be my second time reviewing Elephant Books and I’m actually quite excited about it. Baby Steven is 6 weeks old and I plan on starting our bedtime routine in the next couple weeks. Story time is an essential part of a good sleep routine so a children’s book subscription was/is a must-have in our house.

Subscription Details

Depending on your Elephant Books subscription, each box contains either 2 picture books (kids ages 2-6) or 3 board books (kids ages 0-2) plus some reading “extras” to help make family reading moments even more special. Every box comes wrapped and tied with a bright orange ribbon.

Here’s a closer look at the Board Book Subscription from Elephant Books…..

Packaging

Elephant Books is shipped in an outer brown mailing box. Tucked inside your books will be wrapped in brown paper and tied with a ribbon.

Your initial package will include the books you ordered, a reading tip card, and either three bookplates with the board books (for 0-2 years old) or two library cards and envelopes with the picture books (for 2-6 years old).

Bookplates

Every Board Book delivery includes a set of bookplates. The bookplates can be adhered to the back of the book and are designed to capture personal book memories.

Us by Frank Boylan

This is the story of me and you and of how you and me go together.

This book spoke to my heart the moment I saw the cover. I have a new-found emotional side since becoming a Mom and the illustration on the cover is giving me all the feels. I think this will be one of my favorite books to read to baby Steven.

Under the Sea – Touch & Feel Book

Welcome to the surprising sea of funny creatures. Scaly, squidgy, bobbly, or stretchy? What do they feel like?

What a fun book? Baby Steven will love this once we start playing around with textures. Each page has something for him to touch and feel and the sea creature illustrations are wonderful.

1 2 3’s by Katie Wilson

Count from one to ten as you trace the sandpaper numbers and count the sandpaper dots. Little ones will adore reading and interacting with this experiential title made just for them.

Touch and learn books are a must-have for any little’s library. I love the interactive component as well as the learning component. This one has an under the sea theme and will be perfect for Steven once he is a little older.

Elephant Books Review April 2020 – Final Thoughts

How can you not love this subscription?! If you have little ones at home, Elephant Books is a must! Reading is such an important part of your child’s life so why not start them early?! Baby Steven is only 6 weeks old and we have already started reading books together. I hope it helps him learn to love reading as much as I did as a child, and I hope he loves his Elephant Books subscription as much as I do. For right now, I am the one enjoying it the most, but once he is a little older I know he will be the one who gets the most enjoyment out of it….. or maybe we will love it the same.
