September Box Details ($71 value)
“The September box theme is: Long Hair Don’t Care. Upgrade your beauty & hair-care routine with high performance yet sustainable products.”
I will admit that my haircare routine is simple and not glamorous, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want healthy hair too! I’ve been growing my hair out so it’s extra important to me that it’s nourished and strong so quality hair products are definitely still high on my list. I’m excited that this month focuses on hair and it’s care!
Here’s a look at what’s in this month’s Essentials Crate:
Collagen Gummies, CODEAGE ($24.99)
“Formulated with Collagen Type I & III and Vitamin A, these tropical soft chews are a clean and effective way to get in 96mg of bovine collagen to enhance your beauty routine (great for hair, skin and nails). Dairy, gluten, gelatin & soy-free.”
I love adding collagen to my daily supplement routine. I generally add a powder to a beverage but this is an even more convenient way to get it in too. The gummies sound tasty and are packed with hair-loving benefits. I’m so curious to see if they help strengthen my hair.
Shampoo Bar, HABITAT BY PELA ($14)
“Made with certified cruelty-free ingredients, this waste-free shampoo bar replaces up to 3 plastic shampoo bottles. Easily lathers to gently remove build-up while leaving hair healthy & smooth. Free from sulfates, parabens, preservatives, phthalates & SLS/SLES free.”
I recently really got into shampoo/conditioner bars after being skeptical of them for some time. I was really excited about how they’re made and that they use not plastic but I was afraid they’d not work for my hair. Anyway, I’ve found they do so I’m jazzed to try this one out now. I’d actually eyed this brand as I have another one of their items so that makes it even more fun.
Conditioner Bar, HABITAT BY PELA ($14)
“Enriched with organic clays, oils, vitamin B5 & aloe vera, this nourishing conditioner bar moisturizes, detangles & keeps hair shiny, soft& frizz-free. Free from sulfates, parabens, preservatives, phthalates & SLS/SLES free.”
I said I had previously been skeptical of shampoo bars, well I was even more skeptical of conditioner bars. I couldn’t fathom that they’d be easy to use or make hair soft and smooth like normal conditioner. Well I was wrong and find that they are fun and relatively easy to use. I can’t wait to try this one out to see how it compares to what I’ve tried before.
Silicone Scalp Massager, ESSENTIAL LIVING ($18)
“Improve scalp circulation & overall scalp health with this silicone scalp massager. Can be used alone/dry or with shampoo, oil or treatment for a massage therapy experience in the shower. Gently press rubber tips on scalp with medium pressure.”
I have been so intrigued by these tools in the past and had put it on my list to check out some time so it’s great that one arrived this month! I haven’t read up much on the effectiveness of it helping to stimulate hair growth, but it has to just plain feel so nice and relaxing. I’m definitely at least looking forward to that benefit for sure!
Essentials Crate Review September 2021 – Final Thoughts
I love this month’s Essentials Crate theme! I have been growing my hair out for awhile (not necessarily on purpose, but just by default) and so I appreciate any tools that will help keep it health and easy to manage. I’ve also just recently gotten hooked on shampoo/conditioner bars and am excited to try the ones included this month. And I also have had my eye on a scalp massager for awhile so it’s great one came with the other hair tools. Everything is so great and I can’t wait to give it all a try! I always appreciate how this box’s themes are very deliberate and specific and provide simple, eco-friendly tools that match the theme perfectly. They really do a good job curating interesting and useful items that don’t overlap with anything you’ve received recently. I’m liking this box more and more each time it arrives!
