Extraordinary Man Box Review Spring 2020

From the editors of BCLiving, Extraordinary Man Box is a seasonal subscription box filled with on-trend products & accessories that redefine extraordinary style. Combining their experience and knowledge of the hottest trends, they have put together an uncompromising package that arrives in your mailbox each season. They kindly sent us this box for review.

Father’s Day is right around the corner and it’s really nice to be able to share with you a Men’s Lifestyle Subscription Box based right here in Canada. We have been reviewing Extraordinary Man Box for a year now and we are very comfortable recommending it as a gift to yourself or the Man in your life.

Subscription Details

When you sign up for an Extraordinary Man Box subscription you can choose to pay every month or every 3 months. You will receive a new box each season and every box will include:

  • Extraordinary attire – From socks to lapel pins, they are selected to make a statement
  • Extraordinary personal care – Part of what elevates you is the care you give to not only your clothes but to yourself. Using only high-quality ingredients, these products will keep you feeling fresh.
  • Extraordinary decor and accessories – Whether they are for your home or you, these will add that subtle bit of class that you know that’s what it’s all about.

Here’s a closer look at what we received in the Spring Extraordinary Man Box……

Scentuals – Scentfree Hand & Body Repair Cream, $14.95

Vancouver’s Scentuals is always a favourite of our editors, with their Scentfree line a particular draw. This lightweight formula will repair hands and body after winter’s harsh weather. Relying on organic aloe, shea butter and avocado oil, the formula is 100 percent natural. As an added bonus, three percent of all sales go to benefit the Canadian Cancer Society.

Scentuals has become one of our favorite brands and it makes a regular appearance in both Extraordinary Man Box and their sister box Simply Beautiful. We are also HUGE fans of their Hand & Body Repair Cream and speak from experience when we say it works!

Wolf Clothing Co. – Nexxus Socks, $13.99

We’ve stood by Vancouver’s Wolf Clothing Co. since day one. They have recently expanded their offering with shower gels, shampoos and conditioners, but we still can’t get enough of their classic socks. A 176-needle count ensures they are not too thick and not too thin, plus the extremely soft texture and sophisticated design means they can be worn straight from the office to right out on the town for the evening.

We have received a pair of Wolf Clothing socks before and were very happy with both the quality and style. And what guy wouldn’t appreciate a fresh pair of socks to add to their sock drawer?!

Riversol – Lightweight Moisturizing Lotion, $49

Vancouver’s Riversol was founded by board-certified dermatologist Dr. Jason Rivers after more than 20 years of clinical dermatology. The company offers safe, anti-aging solutions for patients with sensitive skin and this lotion is a prime example: gently hydrating while reducing oil production. As you’re getting back out there this season, it’s an easy way to look your best each morning.

Vancouver based Riversol has definitely made a name for itself as of late. We hear nothing but great things about all of their skincare products and are very happy to see this moisturizing lotion in the box. Perfect for both men and women.

BIGS – Salted and Roasted Sunflower Seeds, $1.99

Our friends at BIGS are thinking about springtime fueling, without busting the belt or ingesting anything totally foreign. Their sunflower seeds–in a delicious and classic Salted and Roasted variety–are a great option. They are vegan- and vegetarian-friendly, boasting no sesame, no mustard (often used for flavour) and may even help lower blood sugar and blood pressure.

Maybe not our favorite snack featured in Extraordinary Man Box, but it is certainly a “men’s snack”. Great for snacking at home, the park, ball games and pretty much everywhere else.

Groom Industries – Aftershave Balm, $16

This past winter, we met the folks at Montreal’s Groom and recommended their terrific shower gel. This season, we turn our attention to a little clean-up of the face. This refreshing aftershave balm blends together jojoba and cocoa butter to ensure comfort after even the closest shave, while notes of sage, pine and juniper will leave you feeling rejuvenated.

Very appropriate for a men’s lifestyle subscription box. Aftershave Balm is a must-have for any morning routine. And this one just happens to smell ah-mazing!

Gentlemen of the North – Laundry Bag, $34.99

We’re really not sure what we like best: the durable fabric, the multiple uses (packing help for a springtime weekend away perhaps?) or the witty slogan. Gentlemen of the North—our friends from Toronto—have provided yet another win, emblazoned by the line “Acting like a gentleman never goes out of fashion.”

An essential for weekend travel bags, gym bags and more! Use this laundry bag to keep things organized, and separate the clean items from the not so clean items.

Extraordinary Man – Eyeglasses Case, $15

A companion piece to a similar item delivered to subscribers of our popular Simply Beautiful #editorsbox across the country, this handy eyeglasses case features an understated, classic pattern and flexible, easy-to-clean material. Plus the squeeze-top self-closure keeps glasses securely tucked away—and scratch-free!

We all have an extra pair of sunglasses kicking around that don’t have a case, so this really is a great item to receive. Practical and stylish!

Extraordinary Man Box Review Spring 2020 – Final Thoughts

One thing we have come to love about Extraordinary Man Box is the fact that they curate such a great selection of essentials each season. It doesn’t necessarily have the WOW factor that we like to see, but it brings with it an understated mixture of “nice to have” products. From the eyeglass case, to the laundry bag, and the hand repair cream – we appreciate the practicality of each and every item featured in this season’s box.
