October Theme – Honoring Our Favorite Shining Star
“This month we honor a gentleman with over 60 years in filmmaking and acting. He is most recognized for his villainous and anti-heroic acting roles. His long career in the industry started in the 1960s, but first behind the camera. He began writing and directing and eventually got his big break in the film Easy Rider. From there, he went on to receive 12 Academy Award nominations…When you look through your box this month you will come across one item heavily inspired by our honoree.”

Mr. Lapel Tie – $24
“Mr. Lapel is a luxury men’s accessories brand based in England. It sells a range of silk lapel pins and buttonholes, as well as handmade pocket squares ties, bow ties, jewelry, sunglasses, socks, cardholders, and tie clips.”
Subscribers received a high quality brown plaid tie this month, and I can’t wait to see my husband wearing this. Brown is not what I would consider a common color for a tie, and I think that is why it really stands out to me. The details on this tie are beautiful, and there is a slight shine to it. This tie would look great paired with a navy or tan suit!
Hitsu Socks – $16
“Hitsu socks are designed by street-artists and each sock has a story to tell. Hitsu works with artists who have done something they feel is worth sharing.”
This color-combo is beautiful! The pattern on these baby blue and brown socks is very unique. There is a mix of diamonds and dots, and the two shades of brown compliment each other well. These socks are very soft, and would pair very nicely with this month’s tie. These are the type of socks that are easy to dress up or down depending on your outfit. They are nice, thick, and comfortable.
A.K. Timepieces Watch – $50
“At A. K., they believe that your watch should match with your brand. A watch tells another who you are, where you have been, and where you are going.”
Wow. This is a beautiful accessory piece. Subscribers received a stunning modern style watch made of stainless steel. The black background makes it look even more timeless and classy. The wristband is made of brown leather. When I saw this watch, I was blown away. This single piece is almost double the price of the monthly subscription.
Shades Club Sunglasses and Case – $35
“Shades Club believes in self-expression, quality, design, innovation and fun. Your sunglasses should be an experience. Shades Club believes sunglasses should make you happy and comfortable.”
When I first saw the brown leather sunglasses case, I was already impressed. When you have a high quality pair of shades, you need to keep them protected. The case just got better when I opened it and saw a super stylish pair of sunglasses inside. These gold-rimmed shades are so fresh. They are lightweight and have a nice orange tint to shield your eyes from the sun.
Capsiva Pain Relieving Gel
“Some pain relievers claim to relieve your pain, but don’t. Others appear to relieve your pain, but in exchange for relief, you harm your body and risk addiction. Capsiva is hereto give you a better and final option.”
This is so neat! This is not a product I was expecting to find in this month’s box, but I love that they threw in a relieving gel made with natural ingredients. After a long day of work, this is the perfect gel to soothe your sore spots and get you ready for the next day.
Gentleman’s Box Review October 2019 – Final Thoughts
This month’s Shining Star honoree is… Jack Nicholson! Did you guess correctly?
I’m a huge fan of the movie One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, so I was very happy to see a familiar face on the cover of this month’s Gentleman’s Box informational pamphlet. I found the play on words to be very clever…shining star… good one! Subscribers also received a bonus recipe for Slow Cooker Beer Chili, and it sounds delicious. I love chili, so this was a nice finishing touch. This month’s Gentleman’s Box is so good! It is valued at $125, making it an incredible steal at over 4x the cost of the monthly subscription. I am very impressed with this month’s box, and I can’t wait to see my hubby looking fresh and stylish with his new accessories.
