GlobeIn Artisan Box Review June 2017: Al Fresco

GlobeIn Artisan Box is a monthly subscription box featuring favorite products from global artisans. Each box is curated around a monthly theme selected by the editor with the aim of helping you experience new and interesting products and cultures. They kindly sent us this box for review.

GlobeIn nailed it with both of their Artisan Boxes this month. We just posted the review for the Refresh box and today we are having a look at the second box for June – Al Fresco. I saw the spoilers for both boxes and knew I was going to love them. Bring on the Summer boxes!!

Subscription Update

We have a bit of housekeeping to do today. GlobeIn recently sent around an email to their subscribers letting them know of a price increase. This happens from time-to-time with subscription boxes. They grow and evolve and product prices increase so it makes total sense that subscription box prices also increase.

  • Old Price – $40 per month
  • New Price – $55 per month
June Theme: Al Fresco

In the art of the good life, you’re no amateur. Therefore, in the spirit of keeping you on the cutting edge of joie de vivre, we offer this upgrade to your open air accoutrement.

Because being outside is great, and eating outside even better, we’ve made sure your new blanket is extra roomy, your enamel plate durable and lightweight, your snack delicious and nutritious, and your utensil holder just plain helpful.

And because an outdoor affair is a sumptuous one at heart, the items in this rainbow-colored collection are anything but plain, chosen as much for function as for sheer delight. Enjoy!

Serape – Mexico

Being outside is better with a good blanket, or shawl. Turns out, your new serape is both. An ample spread of 100% thick cotton, it’s there for your afternoon snooze and to wrap around you when the sun goes down. Use for beach days, outdoor movies, or lazy afternoons in the backyard.

I fell in love with this blanket the moment I laid eyes on it. I’ve always loved this style of blanket but have never taken the time to shop for one. The colors are absolutely perfect. They give off a Summer vibe but aren’t too bright. I see myself using this outside on the lawn, in the morning with a good book and cup of coffee….

Enamel Plate – India

Just because you are outside, that’s no reason to skimp on presentation! In fact, it’s cause for using even prettier things than usual! Pile picnic sandwiches high atop your new funky-folky, hand-painted platter.

Steer clear of the microwave but feel free to warm up food over an open flame, noting that the plate will heat up!

I wasn’t sure about this item at first but the more I look at it, the more I like it. It will be the perfect addition to my morning coffee ritual, outside on the blanket. I will use it for toast or watermelon.

Utensil Holder – Mexico

Sometimes its the things you didn’t even know you needed that make the biggest difference. Your new utensil holder is no smartphone, but ask yourself in a year if you could imagine life, or at least picnic life without it.

Forget about those loose forks and poked holes. Transport utensils safely and conveniently to and from your picnic spot, or in your lunch bag.

This is a wonderful idea! I can think if a million ways in which we could have used something like this in the past. I could put utensils in it when I pack the BF’s lunch, or when I take a snack on the road with me. I could also use it to hold pens and pencils in my laptop bag.

Plantain Chips – Colombia

Some of the best plantains in the world are known to grow in the Quindio Region of Columbia. It is here that we find the grower behind your delicious snack, Don Jorge and his lifelong plantain passion.

I love plantain chips, I always have. They are vegan and gluten-free. What’s not to love!

GlobeIn Artisan Box Review June 2017: Al Fresco

The second GlobeIn Artisan Box for June has me dreaming of days spent outside. Normally I’m not one to sit in the sun, but with this gorgeous blanket and pretty little plate, how can I not! I absolutely LOVE the themes they came up with for June and would love to see more Summer inspired items in the July boxes. The colors in this box are just so darn pretty, and the blanket is something I’ve wanted for quite some time now. I’ve said this before, but feel like it’s worth mentioning again….some of my all-time favourite subscription box items have come from my GlobeIn boxes. I absolutely love the products they include and will get use out of them for years to come. There’s value in the timeless handmade pieces, and isn’t that what we all look for in a good subscription box…..value?
