GlobeIn Artisan Box Review September 2020

GlobeIn Artisan Box is a monthly subscription box featuring handmade, ethically sourced products from makers around the world. The company curates a couple of themed boxes each month. For September I received their Comfort Box. What a perfect theme going into the chilly months!*

*GlobeIn kindly sent us this box for review.

“This box is a quiet box, designed to dissolve the sharp edges of your day and conjure a spell of all-around ease. Just as animals curl up in nests and dens, we offer this collection as a reminder to lavish some attention on the creature inside you that could use a snuggle. — GlobeIn”

Each GlobeIn Artisan Box is valued around $70 USD (sometimes more) and includes four to five handmade items from artists from around the world. Subscribers can also choose additional products to customize their box.

Let’s see what’s inside this one!

Woven Cotton Throw, India ($30)

First, this beautiful 35″ by 60″ throw made of yarn woven from recycled cotton scraps. It has a nice weight to it — not super heavy like those of us in cooler climes need for the winter, but a mid-weight perfect for fall and spring. Love it!

Equal Exchange Organic Rooibos Herbal Tea, South Africa ($5)

I don’t drink much herbal tea so I considered keeping this in the cupboard for guests but then thought better of it. With the way the COVID-19 numbers are climbing it’s not like I’ll be having anyone in for tea any time soon. I set it aside to gift.

Ceramic Cup and Saucer, Morocco ($12)

What a pretty set! I love the colours and the simple gold detailing around the edges. Adds a touch of fancy to my afternoon cuppa. (Typically an English Breakfast.) I usually drink from giant mugs but I’m happy to swap them out from time to time to use this set. Feels like self-care.

Painted Votive Candle, South Africa ($13)

I use candles all the time and even more so in the fall and winter and I enjoyed burning this pretty, unscented one.

The GlobeIn Artisan Box Comfort Box is valued at $60. Normally each box comes with a full-colour brochure that introduces you to some of the makers behind each product but that was missing from this one. These things happen. I’m very happy with the Comfort Box all the same. A cozy throw, a pretty cup and saucer, some tea and a candle are among my top go-to’s when I’m looking for comfort so this one was just about perfect.
