Unleash your alter ego and embrace mysterious, alluring, and captivating beauty looks!”

GLOSSYBOX delivers five deluxe or full-size products every month valued at $60+. There are four subscription options (all prices in USD):

  • monthly ($21/month, billed monthly)
  • 3 months ($58.50, paid upfront)
  • 6 months ($111, paid upfront)
  • 12 months ($210, paid upfront)

Shipping in the US is free and shipping to Canada is $5/box + any duties and customs fees.

October subscribers were promised one of two different box designs and a matching eye mask but mine arrived in the company’s signature pale pink box and no mask. Honestly it doesn’t bother me — I actually prefer the pink box and collect them — but I hope this was just the case for reviewers as I can imagine subscribers might be disappointed.

It did include the product guide, however. As usual, October’s features pictures and brief descriptions of the contents, tips for using them and the retail price. I’ve quoted from it in italics below.

Joséphine Cosmetics Lip/Power — The Bold Matte Liquid Lipstick (full size)

“A classic red lip is always on trend. Blended with cocoa butter, olive oil and vitamin E to create a superb moisturizing texture, this innovative formula keeps your lips luscious for up to 10 hours of wear while holding a soft sheen. ($30)”

This lipstick is giving me Angelina-Jolie-in-Maleficent vibes — a strong blue-based red I prefer over ones with orange undertones. It’s got great staying power but feels dry like so many matte formulas do.

AHAVA Superfood Kale & Turmeric Body Lotion (deluxe mini)

“This light yet ultra-hydrating body lotion is powered with superfoods kale and turmeric. Known for their natural antioxidants, they help protect premature signs of aging so your skin will feel smooth, refreshed, and hydrated. ($5)”

Feels good, smells good, and makes my skin feel less elephantine.🐘😂 I thought it might be yellow on account of the turmeric but it’s cream-coloured and quick to absorb.

Judith Leiber Discovery Set For Her (trial size)

“Customize your signature scent with this discovery set from Judith Leiber’s More is More perfume! An innovative way to experience fragrance, you can make your next favorite aroma as flavorful, zesty, or as floral as you like for every day of the week and any occasion! ($12)”

GLOSSYBOX rarely includes fragrance so this is a pleasant surprise. There are three different scents to wear alone or together:

Gourmand — “Delicious notes of blackcurrant, rich gingerbread and heady vanilla create this indulgent signature.”

Zest — “This sparkling citrus filled with bergamot, thirst-quenching graprfruit and peony provides all the fizz you need day into night…”

Floral — “Ylang Ylang and orchid give this perfume its white floral heart, for the ultimate opulent scent.”

I like citrus scents so Zest is my favourite and Floral’s pretty too, albeit in small doses. Gourmand is a pass (just too sweet and strong for me).

Eyeko Eye Do Liquid Eyeliner (travel size)

“A fan-favorite, this vegan liquid eyeliner will last you all night long. The nib allows full control, giving you the precision to draw the perfect cat eye, its long-lasting formula is smudge-proof and fade-proof, so you can rest assured it will stay in place. ($12)”

I’m not great with eyeliner and marker formulas tend to accentuate my crap job so I’ll gift this one to someone with a more steady hand.

Popband Popmask — Starry Eyes (single use)

“If you’re having trouble getting your beauty sleep or just want to feel extra relaxed, Popmask could be the perfect solution! Made with non-woven cotton and naturally occurring ingredients, this fragrance-free starry mask will provide warm, soothing relaxation. ($4)”

This self-warming mask is like a hot pocket for your eyes and so soothing, oh em gee! I don’t know how I’ve only just tried one for the first time. Mine stayed warm for about 30 minutes, just long enough for a cat nap. Such a nice treat!

Onekind Dream Cream Nighttime Moisturizer (deluxe mini)

“This super-charged night cream gets you up and glowing by the a.m. Rich in squalane and rosehip oils, it locks in moisture and antioxidants to combat pesky signs of aging while barley seed and chamomile extracts soothe away irritation from the day. ($12)”

I haven’t tried this moisturizer, but I’d love to hear what you think. Are you familiar with the brand? Would you recommend?

GLOSSYBOX is a fun and relatively inexpensive way to discover and try new cosmetic and skincare products. I love that the contents are always a surprise (GLOSSYBOX always shares a few spoilers on their site for those interested in a sneak peek) even if that means they don’t always hit the mark. And really I don’t expect customization for a box at this price. The self-warming eye mask is my favourite item for October and the fragrance trio was a pleasant surprise too.

October’s GLOSSYBOX is valued at $75 USD.
