This month’s theme is “Smoke + Spice” and since May was the National BBQ Month, they wanted to bring in some of the classics. Here’s a peek at the May 2024 Grill Masters Club…

Recipe Booklet: The recipe booklet includes a variety of recipes for each of the sauces, seasonings, and rubs included in this month’s box, plus some Itmaster Pro Tips (seriously so cool!) and a bonus recipe to make Smoke Fried BBQ Potatoe Chips. My kids are gonna love those!  I always appreciate the quality of the recipe booklet. It’s not flimsy or made of cheap paper that will disintegrate if it gets wet.  It’s heavy-duty and will stand up to sauce spills or sticky fingers – so it can be kept and referred back to time after time.

Chicago Blue BBQ Sauce by Old Southern BBQ: This small batch made sauce is made with the highest quality premium ingredients by a 3rd generation pitmaster and now family run business. I love that! Described as “mild & tangy” that sounds right up my alley. I especially appreciate that it’s free from high fructose corn syrup (that stuff is everywhere, isn’t it?) and bonus that it’s also gluten free. This is such a versatile, staple – can be used on ribs, chicken, pork, brisket…or anything really.  I’m excited about this one.

Lane’s Brisket Rub: Even though it’s made for Brisket, it’s also totally delicious on beef ribs, pork shoulder, chicken, burgers, steak, roasted potatoes, or eggs. Hello, yum. I love the idea of using a flavor-packed seasoning like this on my breakfast eggs! It’s a savory blend of black pepper, salt, garlic, thyme, and paprika. With ingredients like that, you could literally use this on anything and it’d be delicious! I know this one will be well-loved.

Lane’s “Itsa Vinegar” Sauce: From the same company as the Brisket rub, this is a really cool find! A modern take on a classic southern favorite this sauce has an apple vinegar base and a tangy twist. Perfect for adding flavor to grilled meats or using it as a marinade. I love that this sauce is so versatile – it can even be used on a salad, as a dipping sauce, or as a fun stir-fry twist. I really love this one, it’s not spicy at all, and I know my whole family will enjoy it.

Smoked Sweetness Rub by Rainier Foods: This might be my new favorite seasoning – it’s got brown sugar, smoked paprika, and chipotle pepper (that’s my favorite!) and it’s SO good on veggies!  Yes, of course, you can use it on meat too – but I loved it on our grill-roasted veggies and I even added a little dash to my baked potato today and that was just the kick it needed.  There’s also a recipe in the booklet for Florida White Sauce and I am here for it! This seasoning, along with the Brisket rub, Itsa Vinegar sauce, and a few pantry staples – I can’t wait to make it this week.

Steven Raichlen’s Project Smoke Apple Smoke-In-A-Can: This is such a cool way to turn a regular grill into a smoker! Just open the can and place it in the grill. The apple wood will start smoking within 5 minutes and infuse that yummy smoky flavor into whatever you’re cooking! What a neat idea.

Grill Masters Club Review June 2024 – Final Thoughts

The Smoke + Spice box was another hit for Grill Masters Club and the creative spin on all the classics.  I love the versatility and the super delicious recipes included such as Smoked Mac & Cheese, 18 hour Brisket, and Weekday Pork Butt with Loaded Baked Potatoes. Yes, please!
