The Honest Company Review May 2016

The Honest Company Review for May 2016 – This is a review I look forward to every month. I try each and every one of these products and can speak about them from experience. I am extremely passionate about natural products and make an effort to use them in all areas of my life. My body responds best to natural lotions and cleansers, I feel better when I clean my house with natural cleaners, and I notice the best results physically when I consume natural foods and supplements. Therefore, I HIGHLY recommend this box seeing as the products have become such a huge part of my life over the last couple years.

If you aren’t familiar with The Honest Company it is a monthly subscription box of safer, affordable, eco-friendly products that are also really gorgeous. Currently they offer 3 different monthly bundles – Diapers & Wipes Bundle, Essentials Bundle, and a Health & Wellness Bundle.

Honest Company Review May 2016-4

Shampoo + CondItioner (Ultra Calming) – This is the only shampoo & conditioner I use on my hair. It took me about 2 weeks to get use to it, but after that my hair responded beautifully. I sometimes need to use a little leave-in conditioner, and the scent isn’t strong enough to linger in your hair after washing it, but other than that I LOVE it!

Body Lotion (Ultra Calming) – This is a fairly new product for the Honest Company and I’ve only tried the Apricot scented one, but so far I like it. If my skin is really dry I need to apply it a couple times throughout the day, and it sometimes takes a little bit longer than regular lotions to absorb, but that’s a small price to pay for something that doesn’t contain nasty ingredients.

Sunscreen Spray – Last summer was my first time using the Honest Company sunscreen. It wasn’t my favourite because it was/is really sticky and bugs would end up sticking to my legs while out for a run. Therefore, I was really looking forward to testing out the spray version. I used it for the first time today, and it’s definitely not as sticky as the cream version. It was easy to apply, and absorbed nicely.

Honest Company Review May 2016-6

Hand Soap (Mandarin) – This is the only hand soap I use in my house. I have tried all 3 scents and have been happy with all of them.

Organic Cotton Tampons (Regular) – These are my fave! I don’t use regular tampons anymore unless I have received them in one of my “time of the month” boxes. I have always been a little freaked out by the idea of putting chemically treated cotton in my body (sorry if that is too much info) so the fact that these are made with organic cotton and have a plant-based applicator puts my mind at ease.

Thoughts: The Honest Company isn’t for everyone, as the per item cost is a little higher than some drugstore brands. You could easily go to Wal-Mart and get a bottle of shampoo for $3, and with shipping and taxes I probably end up paying $8-$10 per item. However, I am definitely willing to pay more for natural products, especially when I notice such a difference when I use them as compared to regular store brands. I love all of my Honest Company products and would be lost without them. Who wants to use products made with nasty ingredients on their skin…….I sure don’t.

XOXO
