JoahBox Review May 2019

JoahBox is a beauty subscription delivering 5-7 full size Korean beauty products to your doorstep each month. You’ll see a mixture of popular brands, as well as new/indie beauty brands that are harder to get your hands on in the US. JoahBox kindly sent me their May box to review.

Here’s a closer look at the items I received for the month of May…

It looks like JoahBox decided to switch back to boxes instead of pouches this month. Included in every box is a mini pamphlet detailing all of the products featured each month. You’ll get in-depth descriptions and instructions (in English, of course)!

Thank You Farmer Sun Project Light Sun Essence – $27

OMG! I have wanted to try Thank You Farmer for years now and I’m so glad to have receive this in the box. The Sun Project Light Sun Essence is a lightweight everyday facial sunscreen that has a thin texture similar to a essence/emulsion. It contains SPF 50+ PA+++ and absorbs insanely fast without any white cast or greasiness. It’s amazing!

Kicho Large Multi Brush – $24

This unique brush is a multi-use brush with a curved shape that easily fits the curves and contours of your face. It’s made of synthetic bristles and is ideal for liquid, cream, or powder formulas! It can be used to apply foundation by starting from the inner cheeks and sweeping outwards. It’s also the perfect shape to quickly sweep and blend blush or bronzer all over my cheeks!

Da Mior Moisturizing OR Nourishing Sheet Mask – $4

Subscribers will receive either the Moisturizing or Nourishing Sheet Mask. I received the Moisturizing version and it contains bamboo sap and extracts which contains moisturizing and soothing properties. This sheet mask is made with a “nude seal sheet”, which is a thin, transparent mask that hugs the skin closely making it look like you’re not wearing anything.

W.Lab Hair Steam Ampule Mask Cap (3 Steps) – $15

The Hair Steam Ampule Mask Cap is a 3-step hair care set that helps condition and nourish your hair with long-lasting moisture. The first step is a treatment that coats the hair. It replenishes and repairs damaged and dry hair, while the steam cap (step 2) helps lock in the moisture. After 15~ minutes, rinse out the treatment and lock in shine and moisture with the ampule (step 3).

Ri Re Luxe Metal Glitter – $13

The Luxe Metal Glitter is a liquid glitter eye shadow. Subscribers will receive 1 of 3 colors: Silver Swan, Aurora, or Bronze Beam. I received Silver Swan which has a sheer base and tons of silver glitter particles. Because of it’s sheer base and slightly gritty texture, I prefer to use it as a glitter topper on top of other eyeshadows. Plus, the formula is budge-proof once it sets!

JoahBox Review May 2019 – Final Thoughts

I missed out the April JoahBox, but May’s box was a definite hit! This month contained a great variety of items from skincare, makeup, tools, and hair care! Plus, the retail value of the box was around $83, which is more than twice the price of the box. I loved nearly every item this month and that’s super rare for subscription boxes. It’s hard to pick, but my favorites this month is the Thank You Farmer Sun Project Light Sun Essence, the Kicho Large Multi Brush, and the Da Mior Moisturizing Sheet Mask!
