Lori, Provisions’ founder and visionary, is a trained chef and cookbook author. She started Provisions to channeled her passion for the vineyards, farms and orchards of Niagara, Ontario.
Provisions Food Company is a brand I am very familiar with and so far I have LOVED everything I have received from them. I’m especially loving this little jar of cookies because it is just so darn cute. I LOVE the packaging and think this would make the cutest hostess gift during the holidays. There were three flavors available and I received Milk Chocolate Chip.
Handcrafted Dark Chocolate Bar – Raven Rising
Every season we feature an indigenous business and we’re honored to introduce you to Raven Rising. These chocolate bars are individually handcrafted by founder Chef Tammy Maki a certified Red Seal Journeyman Pastry Chef and Baker. Each is unique and meticulously made with the finest dark chocolate and chocolate embellishments. Vegan and gluten free, these stunning bars are works of art.
Global Indigenous is Raven Rising’s inspiration and legacy. Their chocolates and pastries focus on traditional ingredients sourced, wherever possible, from Indigenous people and businesses in Canada and globally. They strive to offer sustainable, ethically sourced, traceable, Fair Trade, and organic ingredients. To honour family members, friends, and everyone affected, a portion of their profits are donated to, “Indian Residential Survivors School Society” which creates awareness of the impacts of Indian Residential Schools.
Oh my goodness! How beautiful is this chocolate bar! And….it’s vegan which is even better! I can’t get over the detail and the beautiful colors. This is unlike any chocolate bar I have ever received. I am going to save this for a special occasion. Maybe for our first night in the new house, which should be right before Christmas. I will enjoy it with a very large glass of red wine!
Charcuterie Board made from Premium Grade Acacia
Acacia is a natural wood that is becoming popular for use in charcuterie and cutting boards. Acacia is a dark, tropical and strong hardwood that shares similar colors with teak and walnut but is a more sustainable option. Acacia is prized both for its beauty, strength and durability. The wood has a rustic appeal to it, making it a simple and timeless piece that blend easily with any style preference – from shabby chic to sophisticated and elegant.
With over 1,300 species of acacia world-wide, acacia is an abundant and fast-growing species that is forest-friendly, not on any endangered list. These boards are food grade, FSC certified and grown without the use of pesticides, fertilizer or irrigation.
I’ve been craving my mini vegan charcuterie boards the last little while and am just waiting for a few more ingredients to arrive, which I ordered online. As soon as those get here I am going to put this board to use. I LOVE receiving items like this!
Handcrafted, Luxury Natural Soy Candle – Elysian Fragrances
What would a Winter box be without a candle? Emmi, the founder of Elysian handcrafts each and every one of these lovely festive candles. They are made from the highest quality natural soy blends and fragrance oils and she uses 100% cotton wicks. They are paraben free, phthalate free and non-toxic and contain no petroleum ingredients.
You’ll randomly get 1 of 3 festive scents:
- Bark & Cranberry
- Biscotti & Bourbon Vanilla
- Decadent Chocolate & Hazelnuts
I’ve said this before, but no Winter box would be complete without a holiday scented candle, so I am very happy to see this in the box. As mentioned above, subscribers could have received 1 of 3 different scents and I received Bark & Cranberry.
Lux Handcrafted Body Butter in Festive Scents – Charcoal & Rose Petals
Scented with dreamy blends of natural essential oils and plant extracts, this super creamy, is nourishing and luxurious. You will randomly get one of three festive scents – Dark Chocolate Orange, White Chocolate Cardamom and Peppermint Hot Chocolate.
Founder SarahAnn is deeply committed to natural living and puts enormous effort behind her sustainable business practice. All items are handmade in small batches in Peterborough, Ontario using all natural ingredients and a whole lot of love. Absolutely no single use plastics are used in the packaging of any items, and all items are recyclable or compostable or reused.
Body butter is one of my favorite items to receive in subscription boxes, especially this time of year. My skin is NOT happy with me as of late and I have been trying to find a lotion that will help with my dry skin. Bonus points for such an amazing seasonal scent!
Apricot Sugar Body Scrub – Zoës Corner
This delightful body scrub is made with finely ground apricot shells to gently exfoliate skin. Made with a mix of sugar, olive oil and essential oils of lime and lemongrass it will leave your skin smooth, soft and rejuvenated.
Zoe’s Corner was started in 2011 by Zoe Sztepa, selling soaps and beeswax candles out of a corner in her family’s restaurant. Since than she has added a full line up of natural, handmade and plastic-free skincare and wellness products. Now, as a mother of four young children, Zoe passes on her love of making to her four children, the next generation of soap makers who love to “help” mom when possible.
In addition to body butter I also really appreciate a good scrub. I feel like these two items complement each other perfectly. I already have this one waiting for me in my shower.
Socks Crafted with Care from Recycled Fibers – Solmate Socks
These whimsical socks are designed to accentuate style and are meant to be worn with confidence and pride. They are full of love, warmth and character.
Solmate Socks are even more than great looking socks. We chose them for their leadership efforts and commitment to sustainable production. These socks are proudly crafted with care from recycled fibers in their family-owned mill. On top of all that, Solmate has been donating socks for the past 20 years to various charity groups across the US, including family services organizations, refugee centers and homeless shelters.
We have four styles, Nutmeg, Mirage, Fox Tail and Westeria and you’ll get a random design in your box.
And lastly we have the cutest little pair of cozy winter socks. I love the pattern as it makes me think of Winter. And how fun will these be to wear! Even if I only use them for my around-the-house socks….they will definitely be worn a lot!
