Included with every subscription is a little wooden “lovespoon”. This originates from the Welsh tradition and contains symbols of love and good fortune.
Lemon Verbena (Monogram Series)
Lemon Verbena is my favorite scent this month! This candle comes in a beautiful lime green glass jar which really compliments the energizing fruity scent. It contains refreshing notes of zesty lemon, lime, and grapefruit. There is also hints of lavender, geranium, rose and lemongrass mixed in. I think it smells delicious and is perfect for spring and summer!
Ocean Breeze (Cornerstone Collection)
The next candle is Ocean Breeze from the Cornerstone Collection. This candle contains the same 8.5oz as the Monogram Series, but comes in a tin jar with a lid. The lid is a bit tough to open and I struggled with it for some time, but it could also be a good thing since it keeps the scent locked in place. Ocean Breeze is a very fresh and clean scent that gives me “laundry detergent” vibes, but in a good way. It contains a combination of apple, melon, orange and bergamot for the fresh scent and an underlying hint of lavender and bois de rose that makes you feel like you’re on a beach getaway.
Day at the Spa (Travel Tin)
The last candle this month is the travel candle in Day at the Spa. I love to travel, so bringing along this candle with me can make hotel rooms feel more home-y. These are also a great size to light in your bathroom during a bath to relax and unwind. This miniature candle weighs 2 oz with a burn time of ~30 hours. The cold throw smelled wonderfully of lemongrass and black currant. It also has notes of patchouli and sweet sugar cane. Together, it creates a sweet and fruity concoction that smells a lot like Skittles (which I love)! When lit, the candle fills the room with a very subtle scent. I do wish it was stronger, but I imagine it would be ideal in smaller confined areas like bathrooms!
Lovespoon Candles April 2019 Review – Final Thoughts
It’s safe to say that this month’s picks from Lovespoon were a hit! The box comes with two full size candles and a mini travel candle. The scents this month were mainly fruity and clean scented picks, which is perfect to light during spring and summer. My favorite candle this month is definitely the Lemon Verbena – I’m a sucker for fruity scented candles and this ones smells like key lime pie!
