Boundaries Shower Affirmations and Eucalyptus Shower Steamer

Lately, we’ve been exploring quite a few boxes that are new to our subscription box directory.  It’s been so fun to see all of the unique, hidden gems that are out there for those of us who love subscription boxes!  My Best 9 to 5 Life is one of the new ones in our directory, and I’m really excited to share it with you.  This box is for busy working women who want to prioritize self-care and find more joy during their workday.

So many of us spend most of our waking hours at work which is a huge part of our daily life.  We all know that one of the best ways to improve our overall health is by prioritizing self-care.  As busy women, we have tons of competing responsibilities on our to-do list and sometimes prioritizing our mental well-being falls to the bottom of that list.

I love that My Best 9 to 5 Life recognizes that a woman’s professional life is a great place to integrate self-care and personal development because of all the time we’re spending there.  They’re here to make your workday a whole lot brighter and to keep burnout at bay.

If you’re a working woman who’s looking for a way to incorporate more self-care and personal development into your busy schedule – this box could be an easy way to do that.

They kindly sent us this box for review.

Book: The Joy of Saying No

Book: They always include a book and this month it was, “The Joy of Saying No – A Simple Plan to Stop People Pleasing, Reclaim Boundaries, And Say Yes to the Life You Want.” by Natalie Lue. I love the title of this book, and I think learning how to say no truly is a deep form of self-care.  When we’re really able to identify and uphold our personal boundaries, it really does make a positive impact on how we feel and how we move through life.  This is a good book for helping to do that!  I also love how My Best 9 to 5 Life includes a reading calendar in the workbook inside the box.  It’s so helpful for staying accountable to finishing the books we start – especially if you’re a busy working woman!

Boundaries Shower Affirmations and Eucalyptus Shower Steamer

Upclose view of a boundary shower card

Boundaries Shower Affirmation Cards by JaxKelly: These cards were such a fun addition to the box!  They’re waterproof so you just get them wet and then they grip onto a shiny surface like your shower or tub wall or mirror.  There are no adhesives and they can be reused over and over again.  Each one has a special message or reminder to help you set a positive intention for the day.  They come in a pretty blend of pink and mauve colors which feel so calming and lovely.

Eucalyptus Shower Steamer by JaxKelly: I could immediately smell this invigorating scent when I opened the box!  I love that it came in such a cute mesh bag. The steamer is a great way to create a relaxing self-care experience.  You just place it in the shower where it will have some contact with water and during the shower, it “steams” and creates a nice relaxing atmosphere.  Shower steamers are so fun, they’re proof that self-care can be achieved in small ways as well.

"ways to say no" mini book

Ways to Say No Zine by Kwohtations: This was one of my favorite products in My Best 9 to 5 Life box!  This is a mini book full of quick and easy ways to say no when you’re not sure how to break it.  As a recovering people pleaser, I really appreciated this!  Sometimes it’s hard to say no because you don’t want to let someone down or make them feel bad, but saying no sometimes means saying yes to yourself, and these small changes make a big difference in how we feel about ourselves and how much energy we have at the end of the day.  I thought this was a great addition to the box – it can easily be tucked into a desk drawer, purse, car compartment, or basically anywhere!  Proof that good things do come in small packages!

Bad Guy Blocker Webcam Security Curtain

Bad Guy Blocker: Webcam Security Curtain by Tech Candy: Ok this little guy is such a genius invention!  It’s a security curtain for your webcam on your computer – so you just stick it on over the camera and then slide the curtain open when you need to use your camera, and close it when you’re not using it.  It “blocks the bad guys” from crossing boundaries through your device.  I love the cute little eye wink pattern. My Best 9 to 5 Life knows their audience – anyone who works on a computer should have one of these little guys on their camera!

Calm and Clarity Mints

Calm and Clarity Honey Lemon Flavored Mints by Neuro: I’m actually obsessed with these! They’re made with a blend of vitamins and supplements that help to create a calming effect and clarity whenever you need it the most.  I wasn’t sure how they’d taste, but I’m pleasantly surprised!  And they really do help me to feel a bit more calm and focused.  They’re dairy, nut, gluten, sugar, and aspartame free which is a HUGE win in my book!

My Best 9 to 5 Life March 2024 – Final Thoughts

I really enjoyed this box and loved that the team at My Best 9 to 5 Life box chose the “people pleaser” theme – because I agree that people pleasing is a direct route to burnout…which is the opposite of what we want when we’re trying to balance our professional and personal responsibilities.  It’s a great mix of tools and resources to help integrate self care at work, prevent burnout, and to better enjoy the days we’re spending away from home.

The supportive resources in the workbook are created by the founder who is also a life coach, so she really knows what she’s doing in leading women on this journey.  I think this box is great for any woman who is looking to add a little more joy in her working life, who wants to stay off the burnout the train, and who values self-care and personal development.
