NoMakeNoLife, or ‘nmnl’ for short, is a monthly subscription box filled with Japanese and Korean beauty products! Each month you’ll receive 8-9 trendy items including makeup, skincare, beauty tools, nails, body care and much more! They kindly sent me the December box to review.

Here’s a closer look at the items I received this month….
December Theme – Glitter & Glam
Included in every NoMakeNoLife box is a mini pink booklet detailing all of the hand-picked products each month. You’ll get in-depth descriptions, instructions (in English, of course) and upcoming news!
Elle Vie Whitening Eye Cream (Japan)
For a lot of Asian beauty products, the term “whitening” is used interchangeably with “brightening”. This Whitening Eye Cream helps brighten up under-eyes and minimize the appearance of dark circles. I love the rollerball applicator, which makes it really easy to apply the product without tugging the skin.
Sho-Bi Glitter Hair Gel (Japan)
Subscribers will receive the Sho-Bi Glitter Hair Gel in one of 4 shades: Party Pink, Dream Blue, Shiny Silver, or Champagne Gold. The hair gel comes in a mascara-like packaging with a wand applicator. This is great for applying the glitter directly to your hair strands or roots! I’m not a huge fan of glittery hair gel, but that’s mostly because I have nowhere appropriate to wear it to. However, I think this would be a lot of fun to wear to parties and for festival looks!
Champion Lash (Japan)
Wow – these lashes are crazy! Subscribers will receive the Champion Lash in 1 of 11 different designs, and I received a suuuper long pair! I don’t think my natural lashes would be able to hold up this pair at all… Let alone, I wouldn’t know where to wear this to!
Etude House Tear Drop Liner (Korea)
The Tear Drop Liner is a sparkly and shimmery liquid liner that can be used as an eyeliner, or inner corner highlight. It can also be used under your bottom lash line to draw attention to your ‘aegyo sal’!
Glow Hill Makeup Morning Facial Mask (Korea)
The Makeup Morning Facial Mask is the perfect facial pick-me-up after a late night out or if you just want to get a few extra minutes of sleep. It’s a 5 minute sheet mask that provides your skin with the benefits of a moisturizer, makeup base, and skin cream all in one.
Eyenlip Gold Peel Off Pack (Korea)
This golden peel off mask helps remove excess sebum and dead skin cells to reveal smooth and even skin. Because of my sensitive and dry skin, I try to avoid most peel-off masks because it can be very damaging for me. I had my boyfriend try this one out in my place and he enjoyed it (and it wasn’t too painful removing either)!
Champagne Hand Soap (Japan)
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more luxurious and fancy hand soap! This adorable champagne-shaped liquid hand soap will instantly glam up any bathroom. It comes with a twist-off cap and has a generic fresh scent.
Rhinestone & Pearl Hair Tie (Korea)
Subscribers will receive 1 hair tie accessory featuring a pearl and rhinestone design in a heart, square, diamond, or ribbon shape. Pearl accessories are very trendy right now, so this hair tie will come in handy!
NoMakeNoLife Review December 2019 – Final Thoughts
Unfortunately, the December NoMakeNoLife box was missing the ‘wow’ factor for me due to personal preference and low box value. I was disappointed to see two single-use masks and a single hair-tie count as “full-size” items. Additionally, a lot of these items were more adventurous, like the Champion Lashes and Glitter Hair Gel, and I tend to lean towards a more natural beauty look, but that’s just my personal preference.
I do appreciate NoMakeNoLife curating fun and unique items for us to try out, because I definitely would have never discovered these items without this box! Overall, the box felt very lackluster and left me wanting more. Hopefully January’s box will be more enticing.
