Norlii Box Review August 2022: Welcome
We have a long way to go before we’re organized but I’m so happy with this little vignette in the entryway, made complete with some special pieces from August’s Norlii Box. It’s a Scandinavian home and lifestyle subscription from Copenhagen, Denmark that features some of the best of Scandi style from renown nordic brands. This month’s theme is “Welcome” and it’s got four thoughtfully curated items to refresh your entryway and help you and your guests feel at home.*

“How you decorate your home’s entrance will set a tone for the rest of your living space.”
— Linda Hasselbalch, Norlii founder
Each Norlii Box opens with lovely guide to the contents printed on a luxe matte cardstock. Makes a great first impression!
Basket with handles (Bloomingville) · “Beautiful round basket with handles from Bloomingville, braided in seagrass and in its natural color. Perfect for stylish storage of your belongings to keep your entrance tidy.
I love this basket’s very airy wicker — it is elegant and also practical as your items do not disappear at the bottom because you can see through. Size: 13.3 x 9.4 inches.” $48
Moving has inspired me to be more intentional with our decor and notice how the objects we use and display make me feel. I really like this basket’s contrast to the hard surfaces in the space — the natural material warms it up. Eventually I’d like to fill it with a variety of cozy slippers for guests. It would also be great at the back door for light blankets and shawls to use on those cooler mornings and evenings on the back deck.
Glass vase, smoke (Lyngby) · “This stunning vase from Lyngby is a classic in many Scandinavian homes. The clean-lined design goes to the 1930s. Use the vase for fresh flowers in your entryway — giving you pleasure every time you walk in the door. The vase matches the tealight holders you received in your Norlii Box in August last year (we also have these for sale in the Norlii interior shop online).” $70
I love the style and size of this vase and think it would look just as inviting with a few branches as it would with a large bouquet. I use the matching tealight holders all the time!
Iron tray, sand (Broste Copenhagen) · “The iron tray with the open corners can be used as a chic little key tray. Having a small tray to catch your small belongings when you come home is very practical.” $27
Keychain, leather (OyOy Living Design) · “Isn’t it great? The keychain from OyOy Living Design is named The Knot. It is made from leather and has a brass ring for keys. It is functional, gorgeous to look at, and will add a decorative element to bring with you on the go.” $19
The knot shape of the keychain makes it easy to find in my purse and the tray is perfect for corralling all kinds of bits and bobs. I’ve been using the tray with a candle here in the entryway but it could easily find a home anywhere else in the house.
There’s a simplicity and versatility to Scandinavian design that I’ve always been drawn to — it’s cozy but not cluttered, elegant but not precious. Month after month Norlii Box delights me with Scandinavian-made items that are as practical as they are beautiful. It’s the subscription I get the most use out of, one I consistently recommend and one that’s helping me create that welcoming vibe I want people to feel in our home.
