February Box Details
“BEHIND THE BRAND It was such a pleasure being able to interview Sienna, the founder of Flora and Fauna, a skincare brand that is not only ingredient-conscious but incorporates integrity into their entire process of developing supreme quality, sustainable skincare products.
Learn about her inspiring journey and the challenges she faced getting the brand to where it is today!”
Once again Nourish Beauty Box is bringing a new brand to my attention which is always fun! I really like that they include a little background on the featured items as well as a more in depth blog post on the brand. It makes me feel a little more connected to the maker and more interested in the product and it’s features. Of course the rest of the items are fun and interesting to receive too, but it’s nice to have that extra information.
Here’s a look at what was in this month’s Nourish Beauty Box ($73.98 Total Value):
Nourish Naturals Tinted Lip Serum in “Balance” ($16)
“An antioxidant-rich infusion enriched with a potent blend of jojoba, sunflower & safflower oils as well as hydrating shea butter.”
I’m sensing a theme with my past several boxes that a Nourish Naturals Lip Serum is the current staple item. When I first started receiving this box the staple item was nail polish so I built up a little collection of colors and that’s what’s starting to happen with these glosses too. It’s definitely fun to have a collection and this color is a bit different from what I’ve received before. It’s a kind of coral-red color that’s not too bright, but would add a nice pop to your look. The only thing I’m not a huge fan of (and I’ve mentioned this before, so sorry for being a broken record) is the scent of this gloss. I personally don’t think it needs added fragrance and the berry like scent just isn’t my favorite.
Peony Cosmetics Chameleon Powder Pigment ($18)
“A highly-pigmented, super-blendable colored dust that is extremely versatile & can be used on eyes, lips & other parts of your skin.”
I think there were two options to receive for this item and I received the powder color called “Faithful Love” – very fitting for Valentine’s Day! This one really is pretty much glitter, which is very pretty and while it looks kind of florescent purple in the jar, it’s more of an iridescent neutral when applied. I wouldn’t use this for every day looks but would definitely be fun to jazz up a night time look for a special outing.
Wyldflower Labs Apricot-C ($24.99)
“This toning spritz is formulated with 11% vitamin c that targets mild discoloration by promoting cell renewal, helping to brighten as well as reduce the appearance of fine lines and skin fatigue.”
I always use toners in my skincare routine and occasionally like to switch it up based on how my skin is feeling or what it’s needing so a toner is always a good item to receive. This one is intended to brighten skin with vitamin C. It’s orange hue comes from the addition of apricot fruit powder which also makes it smell super fresh and juicy – it literally smells like an apricot! The only tiny downside is that I thought the product would be larger based on the packaging size, but not a big deal. There’s still plenty to give it a good test run.
Flora & Fauna Baby Face Age Defying Serum ($14.99)
“Combines a dozen restorative natural ingredients such as aloe leaf juice, vitamin e, organic blue green algae and organic neem seed oil to give your skin a healthy dose of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals.”
This brand is new to me and this serum intrigues me. It’s said to moisturize, firm, smooth, brighten and soothe inflammation – so it pretty much covers any skin woe. It comes in a pretty white glass bottle and the serum itself is a white color with a light, creamy texture. It doesn’t really have much of a scent so would likely be good for those sensitive to aromas.
Nourish Beauty Box Review February 2020 – Final Thoughts
Another pretty and fun box from Nourish Beauty Box this month! The colors have me feeling spring vibes which reminds me it’s not too far off, but the items are still good for winter skin and the colder weather we’re in the midst of right now too. I’ve added another lipgloss to my collection with this month’s box and I’m going to guess another one will come next month, but we’ll see! I like that there was at least one new-to-me brand in this month’s box among the familiar favorites. The serum is interesting and makes me curious to look into the rest of their product line.
