Here is a closer look at the individual spices we received:

Quatre Epices

White pepper, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and cinnamon.

This spice is right up my alley – Cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger and white pepper. The blend smells like it would also make an incredible chai tea which happens to be my all time favorite. Super comforting for this time of year. The recipe also sounds delish! I love that they have included a recipe along with each of the spices and an image of what your meal should look like. I am also very impressed with the individual envelopes the spices are packaged in! Cute and a perfectly sealed to keep your spices fresh longer.

Dijon Spice

Mustard seed, coriander, thyme, basil, onion powder, and black pepper.

This smells absolutely divine. I can only imagine that this blend will make a nice, rich sauce for the chicken. I am currently doing the Whole30 Challenge so there are a couple items in this recipe that are off limits for me but once I’m back to my regular diet you can believe this will be my go-to for dinner. I’m excited to go online and check out the other recipe selections for spice as well because it smells too good to not be enjoyed right away! It looks like there is enough spice to go further than one recipe.

Vadouvan French Curry

Shallot, onion, garlic, fenugreek, turmeric, cumin, nutmeg, cardamom, cloves, fennel seed, mustard seed, curry leaves, and cayenne pepper.

Ok…this is AH-mazing! This little pouch might just take the cake. Seriously, it smells heavenly and has now just changed my dinner plans! It is sweet and spicy and embodies all the amazing aromas of an incredible curry dish. I can already tell I am going to be very sad when this is gone. This recipe is Whole 30 friendly and I can hardly wait to roast my veggies in this deliciousness!

Herbs de Provence

Thyme, marjoram, savory, tarragon, basil, fennel seed, and lavender.

This is another go to spice that everyone needs in their panty or spice drawer. The blend is very fresh and screams white fish or poultry to me. I also think that it would make a killer dressing for a simple green salad. Fennel and basil just happen to be my two favorite spices to work with in the kitchen. I plan on using the spice with the above recipe this week and I can hardly wait!

Piquant Post Review January 2018 – Final Thoughts

Piquant Post, I am impressed! Each spice I opened just kept getting better than the last and I don’t even know how that was possible. They also couldn’t have come at a better time for me. Doing the Whole30 Challenge has been a feat in itself but these spices will help me continue to find new, exciting ways to enjoy my veggies and protein. The recipes are also a great added bonus. I love that the option to search other recipes on the website for each blend is also available. They included great variety this month with the spices and recipes. I was very impressed with the individual packaging of each spice. A cute little image and description on the front and a breakdown of each blend on the back. 10/10 for this girl! Now…please excuse me while I run to the store to grab my roasting veggies!

XOXO
