Here’s a closer look at the February Simple Loose Leaf tea box….

Prickly Pear Green

“On opening this tea, you’ll experience the Prickly Pear first and foremost. But on the second smell, look past the first sweet notes and look for the dry scent of a blooming desert. A slightly sweet and dry herb smell that captures the heart of the desert just after a spring rain.”

“Try this tea served neat the first time to experience the full range of flavors. Then go wild and spice it up how you see fit. Explore with this tea in tow.”

  • Ingredients: Young Hyson Tea, Wildcrafted Prickly Pear Fruit Pieces (Prickly Pear, Fruit, Rice Flakes), All Natural Flavor, Safflower Petals.

With a light aroma and the delicate taste of pear and green tea – this one makes the perfect lightly brewed cup of tea in the morning. I drank my first cup neat as directed and actually enjoyed it more than when I “spiced it up” for a second serving. I would recommend this tea as a perfect introduction to someone who is just starting to enjoy green tea.

Green Mystic

“Green Mystic is a wonderfully transparent Korean Green Tea. When you open this tea and smell the leaves you’re giving a look at all the delicacy it has to offer. When brewing you’ll notice a rich earthy note to the brewed leaves but you’re greeted with a lovely traditional cup of green tea. You can brew this tea European style of a traditional Gongfu, both methods will work well with Green Mystic.”

  • Ingredients: Korean Green Tea

I absolutely love the smell and colour this green tea produces! I enjoyed this one steeped a little longer than suggested because I enjoyed a stronger green tea flavour; however, it was still clean and refreshing. A must have for any traditional tea lover!

Blood Orange Rooibos

“With rooibos, orange peel, hibiscus, rosehips, apple pieces, safflowers, and rose petals this Blood Orange is an alchemical amalgamation of an herbal tea. This tea will brew hot, cold, iced, and everything in between. We’d describe it more but it’s a flavor explosion you will just have to experience to understand.”

“We have included this tea as it is part of a family of teas that have proven to be one of the top selling tea lines we offer. This tea is also caffeine free and makes a great evening drink that won’t keep you or the family up late.”

  • Ingredients: Rooibos Herbal Tea, Hibiscus Flowers, Rose Hips, Safflower Petals, Orange Peel Pieces, Dried Apple Pieces, All Natural Flavors

Just like when I tried this tea out originally in November, it is easily my favourite tea of the lot. I ended up drinking this tea in the evening after dinner and it was as if I was drinking dessert. It was fruity, light and sweet and perfect before bed. I’m so glad to have had another opportunity to try this one.

Jasmine Green

“Jasmine Green offers an experience that is not what you’ll expect at first glance. While this tea is perhaps as close to a straight green tea as you can get without actually beijing a straight green tea, it is not a simple cup to drink.”

  • Ingredients: Jasmine Special Grade Green Tea

This is truly what green tea should taste like. Going forward I think I will be comparing all green teas to Simple Loose Leaf Jasmine Green tea. It has a beautiful scent of jasmine, and tastes so fresh. This is the ultimate spring beverage, especially with a little bit of sugar.

Simple Loose Leaf Review February 2022 – Final Thoughts

What an all around great best tea experience! I love having the opportunity to try teas that I may not normally select for myself in store. Simple Loose Leaf tea offered an excellent sampling of green teas and the one Rooibos tea. I look forward to future tea drinking experiences.
