Here’s a closer look at the items we received in the Summer Simply Beautiful Box…..

Dermatech Gold Sculpting Beauty Bar, $49: Feel the good vibrations! This gorgeous gold device from Toronto-based DermaTech features sonic vibrational technology to imitate the effects of a professional facial massage. The motion stimulates skin cells, which in turns aids circulation, helping to lift and tone, increase elasticity and reduce puffiness. It also helps boost the effect of serums by effectively penetrating them into your skin. Use daily at the end of your skin care routine all over your face and neck.

I keep meaning to give this beauty bar a try…..I have heard great things about it and love the idea of increasing elasticity, reducing puffiness….etc. I think I will need to add it to my morning skincare routine.

Di Morelli Hydrating Face Mask, $12.50: Revitalize your complexion before that special occasion this summer with this super-hydrating sheet mask from Vancouver’s Di Morelli Medical Grade Skin Care. With powerful antioxidant ingredients like hyaluronic acid and niacinamide, this mask repairs and restores skin, and helps to reduce the signs of aging. To use, remove from packet and unfold. Gently pat onto skin then relax for 15 to 20 minutes before removing and revealing your gorgeous summer glow.

Canvas Candle Co. ‘Bloom’ Gold Travel Tin Candle, $18: This limited-edition soy candle from B.C.’s Canvas Candle Co. will have your home smelling like fresh blooms this summer. Featuring notes of orchid and fig, the beautiful fragrance is inspired by the “warmth of the sun drifting the essence of bright florals under your nose.” This six-ounce gold tin has a burning time of 40 hours, so be sure to trim your wick regularly to ensure a longer, cleaner and safer burn. All of Canvas’ hand-poured candles are made in Canada.

I LOVE this brand and I absolutely love receiving candles in my subscription boxes. And the fact that this particular candle is limited-edition makes it that much better!

Dr Botanicals Grapefruit & Watermelon Refreshing Cleanser, $13: Who doesn’t love citrus and watermelon on a hot summer day? This refreshing facial wash from Dr Botanicals contains grapefruit extract, which is highly effective at cleansing pores. It also includes a variety of alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) to exfoliate, leaving your skin smoother, brighter and refreshed. To use, apply a coin-sized amount in your hands and apply to face. Massage into your skin, including your neck. Rinse with lukewarm water or remove with a face cloth.

Scentuals Coconut or Verbena Lemongrass Body Wash, $14.95: Whether you chose beachy coconut or invigorating verbena lemongrass, you’re going to love this 100 percent natural body wash from Scentuals. Formulated with hydrating and restorative organic aloe juice and organic argan oil, this luxuriously rich body wash gently cleanses while also providing nourishing antioxidants and vitamins to the skin. Simply massage to work up a lather and repeat as needed. Ideal for daily use.

I am absolutely thrilled to see a product from Scentuals in the box as it is my favourite brand to receive. I have loved every product I have tried and might end up placing an order on their website in order to stock up on some of my faves.

Lark & Ives Passport Holder, $55: Travel in style and worry-free this summer with this super-chic folio-style passport holder from Vancouver-based Lark & Ives. The wallet features two inside sleeves to hold your passport and boarding pass, so you can keep your most important documents safe and organized. Not planning on crossing any borders? Use this sleek vegan leather case in this gorgeous macchiato colour to carry stationery or a small notebook in your bag.

I have received a few passport holders in my day but this is my favourite. I love the simplicity and I absolutely love the color. I am very much in to neutral tones right now.

Nena Skincare Mineral Eye Cream, $31.99: This award-winning eye cream from B.C.-based Nena Skincare is the perfect product to nourish dry summer skin in your delicate under-eye area. Made in Canada and enriched with glacial oceanic mineral water and sugar maple extracts, this 98 percent natural cream restores hydration, helps depuff and reduces the visible signs of aging. Canadian berries as well as probiotics, green tea, pomegranate and caffeine help to reveal brighter and refreshed eyes.

I desperately need to find a new eye cream and have high hopes for this one. I’m not overly familiar with this brand but that fact that it is an “award winning” product makes me excited to try it.

Evalina Beauty Sculpt Brow Lift, $42: With Evalina Beauty’s newest product, your brows will stay groomed and in place all summer long. Sculpt is an easy-to-apply soft wax that has thickening and conditioning agents to give brows a soft, flexible hold in one simple swipe. The crystal clear colour is suitable for all skin and brow colours and doesn’t leave any residue. Staying true to Evalina’s clean philosophy, Sculpt is paraben-free, cruelty-free, PEG-free, fragrance-free and vegan.

We receive a product from Evalina Beauty in every box and it’s one of the things I LOVE about this subscription. Some of my must-have makeup items have been discovered in this box….like the Dew Beauty Benefit Cream.

I am looking forward to testing out the eye cream and the beauty bar and am hopeful they will become part of my daily skincare routine. Oh…..and the candle is the perfect addition to the box and rounds it out nicely. Overall I am very happy with what we received.

Love the products! I have been ordering directly from some of the manufacturers, I like them that much! Too bad Simply Beautiful is going to be going out of business soon. Especially too bad Fleet Optics is now their delivery service.

  2. Marigold Power says:

I would suggest that this company NOT donate expired Simply Beautiful boxes to charities supporting vulnerable people… Products containing essential oils go rancid and now your Simply Beautiful box is a Stinky Beautiful box. Expiry dates are there for a reason. And, if you want to make a donation, make it meaningful and thoughtful, not to clean out your closet.
