Believed to bring comfort to those grieving, Cypress trees were commonly planted by headstones in old cemeteries. Cypress was traditionally used by early cultures as incense and as a diuretic, but now it’s most commonly used for its aromatic properties that help with emotional stability.

Likely originating in China, the dried peels of the orange tree were used in ancient Chinese medicine to treat coughs and colds. Now Orange Essential Oil is used for its uplifting and comforting effect on mood while also being able to ease sore muscles and aid in digestion.  It’s also been used for centuries as an all-natural degreaser.

Patchouli

Patchouli used to be packed with silks and cashmere from India all throughout the British Empire to repel insects. In aromatherapy and perfumery, Patchouli provides an excellent fixative that can help extend the shelf life of other more expensive oils. It also helps improve skin’s appearance and can calm nervous tension and worry.

  • Calms nervous tension and worry

Simply Earth Review March 2020 – Final Thoughts

The theme for the March Simply Earth box is Mood Boost. It is designed to support you through times of grief or trial, and show off your creative gifts. We are to use the selection of oils this month to support through every situation. I’m most excited about the Energy Blend as it will be much needed once baby gets here and I am sleep deprived. I’m also excited about the orange oil as it’s such a lovely scent to diffuse in the house. But as per usual I am happy with everything we have received.
