The Beauty Edit Box Review: Spring 2022

The Beauty Edit Box is a Canadian makeup and skincare subscription service that delivers a carefully curated selection of full-size products from indie, luxe and mass market brands four times a year. My first two boxes last Spring and Summer were absolutely brilliant but I think this third one is even better. Let me show you what they’ve put together for Spring ’22. *

* They kindly sent us this box for review.

The Beauty Edit Box offers two subscription options:

The (Mini) Beauty Edit Box – “4-5 full size best-selling makeup & skincare products! This box is a major score. You get to experiment with some of the newest and most luxe full-size makeup and skincare products on the market for a fraction of the cost. Shop like a pro! $47.95 CAD + shipping.”

The Beauty Edit Box (Luxe) – “The ultimate makeup box experience. This box includes 7-9 full size top beauty brands curated to the season. Each box includes a range of premium skincare essentials and makeup. #selfcare is necessary. $80.95 CAD + shipping.”

The Beauty Edit Box currently ships across Canada.

The box I’m sharing today is the Luxe version. Both versions are currently available and ship immediately.

Each luxe The Beauty Edit Box comes with a pamphlet that includes pictures and descriptions of each product, tips on how to use them and the retail price. I’ve quoted from it in italics below.

LIPCANDY Moisturizing Lipstick (full size): “Handmade in small batches using protective hydrating natural ingredients. The lipstick has an amazing quality, delivers high performance and leaves your lips with a creamy satin finish. They are supercharged with superfoods like pomegranate and chia seed oil (to name a few)! $27.95”

One of two shades in the Spring box, mine is a gorgeous warm pink with coral undertones called Markle Sparkle. It was inspired by Harry and Meghan’s Royal wedding and originally intended as a limited edition but it’s now part of LIP CANDY’s permanent collection. The colour is beautiful for day and night and the formula is lovely.

LYS Higher Standard Satin Matte Cream Blush (full size): “A clean, high pigment, non-greasy, satin-matte blush with a buildable, creamy formula that gives skin a natural flush. Cruelty free, gluten-free and comes in recyclable packaging. $22”

I recently finished my go-to blush and couldn’t find the same shade again but this is remarkably close. Subscribers received one of two shades. Mine is called Kindness and it’s a soft peach nude. I’m used to a powder blush but I now I might be #teamcream. It feels really great and I think it’s got better staying power than a powder.

DERMATECH Gold Sculpting Beauty Bar (full size): “This beauty bar was designed with sonic vibrational technology to imitate the effects of a professional facial massage. This beauty tool helps stimulate your skin cells, boost radiance, reduce puffiness and increase your skin’s elasticity. Upgrade your skincare routine by using the bar to effectively penetrate serums into your skin, or for a relaxing facial massage! $49”

I keep reaching for this when I’m watching TV — it feels so relaxing to smooth across your face and couldn’t be easier to use. Puts the luxe in the luxe box for sure.

NCLA BEAUTY Nail Lacquer (full size): “All NCLA nail lacquers are proudly made with love in California, 100% vegan, cruelty free, and 7-Free. This means: no Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, DBP, Toluene, Camphor, TPHP or Xylene. $20.40”

I have a few different polishes from this brand and they’re some of my favourites. The coverage is so good you can get away with one coat in a pinch and they don’t streak. This one is the perfect neutral for Spring, a pinky lilac called Mohave Dessert. Subscribers received one of four different shades.

ELATE Eyecolour Pencil in ‘Evolve’ (full size): “Smooth, easy-to-apply eye colour. Make your own statement with this pencil, by how you apply or solely how it aligns with your values. Elate EyeColour Pencil is made with low environmental emissions and COSMO CERT ingredients to create a more positive impact on the planet, while empowering you to look toward the small moments of joy that add intention to every choice you make. $25”

This soft pencil is a bit smudgey and more forgiving than a precise liner, which I love. I’ve been experimenting with a purple pencil and a mascara and this mauve brown looks great with both.

ZOEVA Spice of Life Eyeshadow Palette (full size): “A classic hero eyeshadow palette in 10 highly pigmented, ultra-rich coppery, saffron shades and reddish brown hues to spice up your makeup looks. Packed with a spectrum of easy-to-blend shades ranging from neutral to bold, Spice of Life was created to help you take on the world in all your diverse roles in life. Paraben-free, sulfate-free, fragrance-free with vitamins and antioxidants. $40.80”

A gorgeous palette with a mix of mattes and sparkle. And the eye pencil is the perfect match!

SOAK BATH CO. Bath Bomb in ‘Rose Petal’ (full size): “The most romantic bath bomb in the Soak Bath Co. product line. This bath bomb creates a beautiful floating rose petal bath. Draw yourself a nice warm bath and get ready to indulge in the nourishing oils of this moisturizing bath bomb. Rose petals will float on top of the water while you indulge in the aromatherapy of rose oil. $9.99”

What’s more luxurious than rose petals in the bath? I’ve tried these bombs a couple of times now and they’re fabulous!

GLAMGLOW EyeBoost Reviving Eye Mask (full size): “The EyeBoostTM metaliic masquerade mask addresses the entire eye area to revive, revitalize, and energize with Hyaluronic Acid, skin-smoothing algae, and mushroom extracts to reduce the look of dry, fine lines. $10”

This is the only product I haven’t had the chance to try (I recently got my eyebrows done and they need to heal for another few days) but I was so excited to see it! GLAMGLOW makes my favourite mask and I can’t wait to see what this one can do.

I’m so, so happy with the Spring The Beauty Edit Box! A fantastic curation of top-quality, complementary cosmetics and skincare, all in beautiful shades and formulas that look and feel great. I’m excited to see some familiar brands and be introduced to new ones as well. The luxe box is valued at $205.14.
