The Crafter’s Box is a subscription service that aims to deliver a joyful crafting experience right to your doorstep by providing all the materials, tools, and expert instruction you need to complete each month’s project. This subscription is perfect for those looking to explore new crafts, learn new artistic styles, or expand their personal creative boundaries. They kindly sent us this box for review.

Subscription Details

Each The Crafter’s Box is thoughtfully curated in collaboration with the featured artist or maker. Subscribers will receive high end materials and tools needed to complete the project, as well as access to the accompanying digital workshop and live/recorded Q&A chat led by the featured maker. Crafter’s Box also hosts a marketplace where you can purchase past workshop kits, premium workshops, digital classes, and tools and supplies.

Subscriptions cost $65 per month with cost savings for those opting for longer term subscriptions. Boxes ship for a flat rate of $6.50 within the United States, $20 to Canada, and $30 internationally. The Crafter’s Box is unique in that it offers subscribers the option to skip or swap out a box if the upcoming box theme is not of interest. Love this kind of flexibility in a subscription!

Crochet Granny Squares Bag

Each The Crafter’s Box contains a folded card describing the project and introducing the maker. It also lists all the materials inside the box, and any additional materials to have at home if needed.

Let’s take a closer look at everything included in this kit:

Lucia Yarn

This kit includes seven balls of 100% wool Lucia yarn. Subscribers get a choice between Cream or Colorful colorways. This is the Colorful kit. This yarn is chosen because it is nice and sturdy while being easy to care for.

Long Leather Handle Set and Leather Backers

These leather handles and backers are custom handcrafted for this project.

Aluminum Crochet Hook and Wax Cord

The crochet hook included in this kit is size 4mm. Wax cord can be used to attach the handles. The kit is also supposed to include a tapestry needle to stitch the seams which I did not receive. Because I am a knitter, I have loads of tapestry needles, so it wasn’t a problem for me.

Pattern

The kit includes a copy of the pattern. I like electronic copies, but the convenience of having a paper pattern is still so much preferred.

Final Thoughts

I have made a fair number of granny squares before but have never made a bag, so am still really glad to learn something new from this kit! I also really enjoyed the tips offered by Toni in her tutorials to make a better granny square. The bag is so cute, I am really looking forward to putting it together and using it as a market bag. As someone who enjoys crafting, The Crafter’s Box is one of my favourite subscriptions to receive. It is such a great way to try out different craft projects without spending too much time or money on researching and buying supplies.
