Have you ever wanted to bake but found yourself missing that ONE ingredient that could make it happen? Have you ever wanted to try a recipe that called for a small amount of an unusual ingredient but found that sourcing and stocking said ingredient was not worth the time, money and effort. If your answer to any of these questions is YES, then The Innocent Baker box is for you!
Here’s a closer look at the items we received in the July The Innocent Baker box….
The Innocent Baker July Recipe
Coconut Lime Cheesecake: Cheesecake is a summer crowd pleaser and this creamy coconut cheesecake with the bright lime curd is sure to become a favorite.
For the dry ingredients we received the following:
- Coconut Cookies
- Coconut Milk Powder
- Icing Sugar
- Toasted Coconut
- Baking Powder
For the wet ingredients we received the following:
- Coconut Extract
- Vanilla Extract
We also received foil paper sheets and a piping bag.
For the tools we received the following:
- Three Mini Springform Pans
What We Need to Purchase
To make the recipe the only additional items we need to purchase are whipping cream, cream cheese, butter, lime and eggs. It’s a little more than we typically have to supply on our own, but still very doable.
The recipe was organized nicely, complete with numbered steps and photos. It also tells us the prep time (30 minutes) and the baking time (36 minutes). You will also need to cool the cheesecake, either 4 hours or overnight. I found it easy to follow, with a total number of 8 steps. Here’s the overview:
- make cheesecake crust
- make cheesecake batter
- bake cheesecake
- cool cakes on rack
- make lime curd
- prepare whipping cream
- remove cakes from the baking pans
- garnish cake
The Innocent Baker Review July 2019 – Final Thoughts
The July The Innocent Baker box has provided me with a recipe that I have struggled with over the years. Cheesecake is my nemesis. Cheesecake and I have a love/hate relationship. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE to make cheesecake, and it is always requested at family get-togethers, but it can be time consuming to prepare and the baking process is finicky. But…..I am ready for the challenge and was actually really excited to see them feature a cheesecake recipe in the July box. And can we talk about the mini springform pans?! I can’t wait to test those bad boys out!
