February’s Theme – Share The Love

Included in every TokyoTreat box is a mini magazine that gives you in-depth details of each treat in the box, descriptions, upcoming news, and mini activities!

Strawberry Daifuku KitKats (Premium)

Seeing brand new KitKat flavors in my TokyoTreat box is always exciting! Japan is constantly creating new unique flavors like this month’s Strawberry Daifuku flavor. It’s a sweet red bean and strawberry filling sandwiched between crispy wafers and coated in a white chocolate creme coating. It’s sweet and very tasty!

Crushed Strawberry Pocky

I’ve purchased this special Pocky flavor before and it’s delicious! The cocoa flavored biscuit sticks are covered in a tangy strawberry cream that contains actual strawberry crumbs/pieces. It’s the perfect mixture of tangy and sweet!

Blendy Stick Hojicha Cafe au Lait (Premium)

This month’s drink item is the Blendy Stick Hojicha Cafe au Lait. The box comes with 7 individual servings and it’s the perfect morning coffee replacement if you like sweet lattes. It has an earthy roasted green tea flavor mixed with a sweet creamy milk.

Strawberry Choco Balls

These ball shaped candies are made with a crispy rice cracker center that’s covered in a strawberry chocolate coating. It’s a sweet and light snack that’s fun to eat.

Honey & Apple Pure Gummies (Premium)

I’m obsessed with gummy candy and the Honey & Apple Pure Gummies were amazing! The heart shaped gummies feature half-and-half honey and apple flavors. Plus, they’re lightly coated in a sugar crystals for a sour and tangy punch.

Caplico Strawberry & Chocolate Hearts (Premium)

What better way to celebrate your Valentine than with these heart-shaped sweets! The Strawberry & Chocolate hearts come packaged in a mini tray. What I love most about this candy is the unique texture. The chocolate is aerated with small pockets of air all throughout, which makes the chocolate feel very light and creamy. Plus it melts in your mouth!

Strawberry Heart Marshmallows

The Strawberry Heart Marshmallows are perfect for all the marshmallow lovers out there! The bag comes with fluffy heart shaped marshmallows that’s great for snacking alone or pairing with other treats… Hot chocolate, anyone?

Strawberry Softserve

The Strawberry Softserve is a repeat item that I think we’ve received twice already. It’s a very fun treat since it looks exactly like an ice cream cone, but in snack form. It’s topped with a fluffy marshmallow and features a strawberry center.

Caramel Corn

Tohato’s Caramel Corn is an incredibly popular and well-known snack throughout Japan. It features light and airy corn puffs with a milky caramel coating. The lightweight texture and crispiness pair perfectly together!

Aji Cheese Chips

Another light snack this month is the Aji Cheese Chips. It has an airy puffed rice cracker texture with a subtle hint of cheese. This is one of the few savory snacks this month, which adds a nice contrast to the candies and sweets!

Dragon Chips

What are Dragon Chips, you ask? These are creamy tarako (pollack roe) and butter flavored chips. The name comes from the twisty shape of the chips that resembles a dragon. This is hands-down my favorite snack this month! It has such a smooth and crunchy texture that’s full of savory umami flavor! It packs a punch and we devoured this entire bag in about 5 seconds.

Veggie Hearts

The Calbee Veggie Hearts are a classic snack that’s always enjoyable. These heart shaped veggie chips contain 5 different types of veggies. I’m not sure how much healthier these are compared to traditional potato chips, but they’re a delicious alternative. The light crispy crunch is addicting!

Uncle Pierre’s Roll Cake

Uncle Pierre’s Roll Cake is like a strawberry filled swiss roll! It’s made of a soft sponge cake rolled up with a mixture of sweet and tangy strawberry flavors.

Strawberry & Milk Cream Cake

For those with a sweet tooth, the Strawberry & Milk Cream Cake is sure to satisfy. The cake consists of a milky and sweet strawberry cream sandwiched between two spongy cake layers. To top it all off, the cake is covered in a sweet cream for a delicious and decadent treat!

Chocobat

Chocobat is a soft stick of bread enrobed in a thick and sweet chocolate coating. This is good, but the soft texture of the bread gives it a “stale” taste. I think it would be much better if it was crunchy!

Black Thunder

Black Thunder is a 10/10 snack! It features a handful of ingredients that compliment each other so well, like the bitter rich cocoa, sweet chocolate toppings, and crunchy cookie base. It’s covered in chocolate and reminds me of a Twix, but much better (and I absolutely love Twix)! This is an item I don’t think I could ever get tired of.

Bubby Choco Stick

Shimi Choco Corn is another classic item that I’m a die-hard fan of, and this is basically the same treat in star-shaped stick form. The bar is made of corn that’s infused with a rich and creamy chocolate. It truly melts in your mouth. Another 10/10 treat I adore!

TokyoTreat Review February 2020 – Final Thoughts

February’s TokyoTreat box leaned heavily on the sweets this month, but that’s something I’d expect for the month of love and Valentine’s! I have a huge sweet tooth, but even I found myself wishing there were more savory snacks to help break up the sweetness. Nonetheless, my favorite items this month were the Strawberry Daifuku KitKats, Dragon Chips, Bubby Choco Stick, and Black Thunder!
