VanCity Box Review December 2016
VanCity Box is a Canadian Lifestyle Subscription Box with HUGE potential, but I feel like they have slightly missed the mark with their last few boxes. Don’t get me wrong, their boxes are nice, and the foundation is certainly there, but they have the potential to be great, and I think they are on the right track.
Vancity Box Details
If you aren’t familiar with Vancity Box it is a lifestyle subscription box that sends their subscribers a box filled with fresh new finds from around Vancouver city. This box was provided complimentary for review and may include affiliate links.
Here’s a look at the items we received in this month’s box:
New Moon Tea Co. – Winter Earl, Mint Cocoa, Mayan Chocolate, Masala Chai
Eeek! This is so exciting. I have received this brand of tea a few times now and I am a HUGE fan! I made the mistake of snooping around on their website this morning and found about 5 more flavours of tea I need ASAP, as well as the CUTEST mug cozies. I think they need to start their own subscription box…….3 new teas and a matching cozy every month…….I would be a subscriber FOR SURE!!
Oh, and I should probably talk about the teas we received……I am most excited about the Mayan Cocoa Drink, here are the directions:
- Boil 2 cups of milk, best with whole milk or cream. Put contents of pouch into the muslin bag provided and place in pot. Simmer and stir for 10 min. Squeeze the pouch and remove. Serve Hot and Enjoy.
Sealuxe Soap – Ocean Flora & Activated Charcoal
We received a ton of Sealuxe products in our June VanCity box but I don’t mind receiving more because I really like this brand. The Activated Charcoal soap intrigues me. I will definitely be using it.
Goodmallows Marshmallows – Polar Bear
This is another brand we have received before, but I LOVE them. I personally can’t eat them (marshmallows aren’t vegan friendly) but I like to have them on hand for my nieces and nephews. We just happen to be having a sleepover next weekend, complete with Christmas movies, tree decorating and a hot chocolate bar, so these will definitely come in handy. And, you MUST check out their website. They have a bunch of different flavours…..incuding peanut butter & chocolate…….what!
Now, if I could just get them to make me vegan marshmallows…..hint, hint.
Wolf Christmas Socks
These round out the box nicely. No December box would be complete without some sort of Christmas item. And let’s be serious, who doesn’t like Christmas socks!
VanCity Box Review December 2016 – Final Thoughts
This month’s VanCity Box is much better than the last couple. I definitely prefer to see a mixture of brands and companies in my subscription boxes. While it’s nice to receive a few products all from the same brand, it’s a little more risky. What if I don’t like that particular brand? At least when there’s a few different options it’s pretty much guaranteed that I am going to love at least a couple things in the box. I’m also very happy that they included a Christmas item in this month’s box. It would have been great if they took that theme one step further……Christmas coloured tissue paper, candy canes, etc.
