So…..we all know about my candle obsession as it’s something I mention in almost every Vellabox review, but I officially have a new candle addict in the family and it’s my 2 year old son Steven. He LOVE candles and wants me to light one every night when we have dinner, and he wants me to place it on the dinner table while we eat. It is the cutest thing, especially since my hubby works out of town and little Steven and I often enjoy our meals together, just the two of us. Its like a romantic little mommy and me dinner every night of the week.

January Candle Maker – Kin & Care

Kin & Care was created when two immigrant women bonded while expressing empathy for the challenges they experience as they try to find opportunities and relationships within their new homes in the US. Looking for a way to empower these women, they decided to create a company that hand-pours, small-batch candles by immigrant women in the Washington, DC area. These candles are poured at home to provide security and adapt to flexible schedules. Kin & Care’s intention is for the opportunities of refugee women to grow as the brand evolves. 

After reading about Kin & Care I just had to have a peek at their Instagram page. I think they have a really great story and would be a wonderful box to support.

Bonus Item – Reusable Rounds

Cut down on cotton waste with these Reusable Rounds! Consisting of 5 gentle cleansing pads packaged with love in our canvas bag. Pair these rounds with your favorite cleanser, toner, makeup remover, or go all-natural by only using water! Keep these handy for travel in our canvas bag or store them in a repurposed Vellabox candle jar at home. After use, place in the washing machine to reuse. 

I only recently started using makeup remover rounds and I don’t know what took me so long. I absolutely love them and what a great alternative to the makeup remover wipes I typically use. I think it would be so cute to reuse a Vellabox jar to store these in. They will fit perfectly and will look super cute sitting on my bathroom counter.

Fir & Cedar Candle

Grounded in notes of warm earthy woods, topped off with a light touch of lemon zest. An enchanting scent you won’t be able to get enough of during these winter months. Scent notes: cypress, lemon zest, cedar, evergreen, fir, amber.

Subscribers could have received one of four different Kin & Care scents. I received Fir & Cedar and am very happy with the scent. I love any fragrance that includes woodsy aromas – fir, cedar, evergreen, etc….

Vellabox Review January 2022 – Final Thoughts

As much as I miss the old Vivere box which included 2 candles, I must say….I am loving this new 16oz option from Vellabox. I am also really loving the fact that subscribers receive different candle scents based on their preferences. When you sign up for a subscription you let them know what your scent preferences are (or you can let them surprise you) and you also let them know where you burn your candles, how strong you like them, and how often you burn them. They will suggest the perfect subscription option for you and curate your candle selection based on your preferences. I LOVE these new options and LOVE my Vellabox deliveries. I would be lost without them:)
