I got to review Vellabox for the first time last month and oh my goodness….it was love at first sight. Candles are one of my favorite items to receive in subscription boxes so the idea of a candle subscription box really piqued my interest. The June box was absolutely lovely. I have one candle in my office and one in the kitchen and I burn them often. It really is the perfect subscription for any candle lover.

July Maker – Lustre + Bloom

Mandy of Lustre + Bloom began making candles as a hobby while her little one slept. With a new baby in the house, she wanted to ensure she was buying the safest, cleanest candles possible. No better way than to make them herself using 100% non-toxic ingredients! Quickly finding candle making to be her passion, Mandy turned a hobby into a business and has been selling her beautiful, clean-burning candles ever since!

The candles are packaged in reusable canvas bags. Each month receive a different color/design. Loving the stripes!

Sugared Citrus

Fragrance Notes: grapefruit, mandarin, lemon

This sweet, summery scent is sure to make your day a little brighter. Best enjoyed while cooling down inside after a long day in the sun with a refreshing beverage in hand and feet propped up. 

My favorite of the two candles this month, it smells exactly how you would imagine sugared citrus to smell. It’s perfect for Summer! It’s energizing, bright and has just the right amount of sweetness.

Peony Bouquet

Fragrance Notes: magnolia, violet, water lily, peony, freesia

Possibly the most gorgeous floral scent of all. We’re picturing butterfly gardens and fields of flowers as far as the eye can see. 

Typically I’m not a fan of floral scents but this one is really pretty. I actually find it kind of calming.

Bonus Gift – Produce Bag

Ditch the plastic for reusable produce bags. It’s the most sustainable way to grocery shop. Perfect for fruits, veggies, grains and more! And stylish enough to keep out in your kitchen. 

What an amazing bonus gift this month! I am making an effort to limit plastic items as much as possible so this produce bag is much appreciated. My favorite bonus item to date!

Vellabox Review July 2020 – Final Thoughts

Candles just have a way of making my day a little bit brighter. They really create a beautiful atmosphere and can set the tone for whatever it is you might be doing. Whether you light one in your office while you work, in the kitchen after a home-cooked meal, or on the table beside your favorite reading chair. I really do love candles and I really do love my Vellabox deliveries. It’s happiness in a box, and it would make the best gift! I’m picturing birthday gifts and house-warming gifts, and I’m already thinking about Christmas gifts. Is it too early for that?!
