YumeTwins Review August 2021

YumeTwins is a Japanese subscription full of kawaii or licensed character items from popular brands. Each box will contain cute plushies and squishies, stationery, bags and pouches, accessories, or daily practical goods straight from Japan.

They kindly sent us this box for review.

Subscription Details

The YumeTwins subscription costs $35 per box on a monthly plan, with cost savings for longer term prepaid subscriptions. Subscriptions on 3-, 6-, and 12-month prepaid plans will cost $33.50, $32, and $31.50 per box respectively. Shipping cost varies depending on the available shipping courier for each country.

Each monthly box includes 5 items to give you an experience of Japanese culture through everything kawaii. Items range from plushies, toys, stationery, bags, wearable accessories, and practical goods curated around a theme.

The August YumeTwins theme is “Poke-Dream”. I love Pokemon, and am so excited for an entire box of Pokemon goodies!

The cute information booklet provides a brief overview of the theme, along with pictures and descriptions of each item. It also contains upcoming news, activities, details for a subscriber photo contest and prizes, and photos from the YumeTwins community.

Pokemon Tissue Holder Plushie

The hero item of this box is undoubtedly this Pokemon tissue holder. It is super soft and squishy, and can be a great stuffie if you do not want to use is as a tissue holder. Subscribers may receive a plushie of either Pikachu, Gengar, or Snorlax. I am so excited to get the Snorlax as it is my favorite out of the three variations!

The tissue holder is only big enough to hold a pocket tissue pack. It’s not a big deal since I always have lots of pocket tissue packs around, but do wish it could hold a bigger pack of tissues. There is a strap on the back for easy attachment to backpacks etc. which is a nice touch.

Pikachu Plate

This cute Pikachu plate is great for holding snacks, or as a display tray for accessories and knick knacks. It is actually a decent size and can hold a good amount. I like the raised sides to prevent food from easily sliding off the plate, great for children or someone super clumsy like me.

Pikachu Pen

A girl can’t have enough pens, and I am happy to add this cute Pikachu pen to my collection! It has a comfortable and easy to hold grip, and writes really smoothly.

Poke-Pals Keychain

The next item featuring Pikachu is a keychain shaped like a mini notebook. I couldn’t get the notebook to open, so I don’t think it is supposed to function as an actual notebook. I do wish it could though! A tiny notebook keychain would be so cute, even though not really functional unless you have tiny handwriting LOL.

Pokemon Perfume Hand Cream

I have seen pictures of these Pokemon hand creams from following various Asian skincare blogs, and am so excited to have my own. I got the variation that has a scent of mandarin and grapefruit, with middle notes of peony, jasmine and rose, and base notes of musk, cedar, and amber. Personally, I didn’t get much of the mandarin or grapefruit, but the floral notes really came through. It smells amazing! The hand cream also contains moisturizing ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and collagen.

Poke Ball Puzzle Figurine

Finally, I received a Poke Ball puzzle. Inside the Poke Ball are mini puzzle pieces that can be put together to form a Pokemon. After assembly, you can store the Pokemon inside the ball or display it on top of the ball. The tiny booklet contains clear picture instructions to assemble your Pokemon. I love this even though it took me longer to assemble than expected, and the tiny pieces can be quite fiddly!

YumeTwins Review August 2021 – Final Thoughts

This month’s YumeTwins box is the perfect box for every Pokemon fan. I love that a variety of Pokemon are included besides Pikachu. Opening this box reminds me of visiting a Pokemon merchandise store and getting a whole bunch of goodies. I love all the practical items, especially the tissue holder. The hand cream is amazing and the puzzle Poke Ball is such fun! If you are someone who loves cute Japanese character merch like this, then YumeTwins is a box well worth subscribing to.
