This month’s set is inspired by the utter joy kids experience when you add sprinkles to their day.
On a recent trip to visit family we made pancakes on one snowy morning. On a whim, I decided to add sprinkles to them just to get some smiles out of the kiddos. Little did I know the kids deciding which sprinkles they wanted on their pancakes, and the anticipation as they waited for them to be ready, would spur a chain of excitement that would last much longer than breakfast itself did.
The mixture of cold outdoors, warm indoors, and excited kiddos, paired with the Christmas tree the whole family had picked up and decorated a few days prior paved the way for all the Christmas feels.
The concept of “like a kid on Christmas morning” was all around, and I loved every bit of it. Later in the day I realized how rare that feeling was and how amazing it felt. I decided it was worth working towards on a more regular basis, so I designed this jewelry set as a reminder to put in the effort to experience that more often.
The gold flakes in this set resemble the adult version of sprinkles, the white of this set resembles the brisk fresh feeling offered by a snowy morning, and the bevels in the face of the pendants resemble the countless opportunities we have to allow ourselves to live like kids again.
When you wear this set, I hope it reminds you to make the effort to find joy in your day. Allowing yourself to feel excitement and look forward to something, rather than being consumed by the go-go-go that can become norm, is SO worth it.
